We've had a lot of good teams here at WSU. We've had a number of very good teams as well. So, what is the difference between a good team, a very good team, and a great team?
A good team finishes in the top three in the league and has a chance at post season play. At WSU we accept nothing less than this.
A very good team wins a game in the post season. At WSU we look back on those years with pride.
A great team wins more than one game in the post season. This has not happened for us yet, as a D1 program.
What does it take to get to the next level?
Using history as my guide, we have been very good only when we have had an inside monster and an outside monster on the same team. Lately we have had a gluttony of outside monsters, but have lacked the inside monster. We are losing one outside monster, and have a committee who will seek a way to fill the void. We also have a committee of hopefuls for the inside monster spot. Can any of them step up to that role? We really don't know yet. We can only hope. :twocents:
