Well that was a tough stretch of games. After watching most of the Pitt and the one last night I am a little concerned by the distribution of the ball. McBroom is definitely talented, but he is taking a ton of ill advised shots. One in particular during one of the last couple of games he had a break away and instead of taking it hard to the hoop he pulled up for a deep three with no one under the basket except for the opponents. I am all for confidence, but make every possession count. It is also pretty apparent that we are undersized down low and yes Jois will be sufficient when we get to conference play, but we are getting killed on the boards. Just my humble observation.

I went to the Montana @ Gonzaga game and concluded we are gonna get KILLED by the Griz. At first I thought it was not fair that we only play Montana once, in Missoula, but after seeing them play my conclusion it is mercy.

Rough road trip. But I will wait and judge this team when they begin conference play. They have done two long road swings, have played really good teams on the road and have only played three of their eleven games at home. As for Montana, I have watched them several times and although they played a weakened GU team close, they just got plungered by UW in a big way, totally dominated.

I think the EAGS will respond well come conference time. Morehead is a pretty good team and will be another big test but I think the EAGS will play well now that they are back home.

If EWU gets hot in early it's back to the dance.

All that matters is the conf tourney plain and simple. No team from the BSC will get an at-large berth.

The conference tourney is all that matters. And now that it's on a neutral court in Reno, it's all about which team gets hot down the stretch. We aren't going to coast through league play, but I have a feeling we'll be right near the top. Defense is going to have to become a priority if we want this team to Dance. The talent is there. It has to become a mental toughness thing.

go eags!
