Grade the positions

sunday

Reading the posts have allowed me to see that you guys (gals) really know football and study it. Kudos to you former player out there too! :thumb: Place a 'letter grade' on the following positions and then why you came to that conclusion. For simplicity A, B, C, D, F. No + or -'s.

QB
RB
O-Line
Receivers
D-Line
LB
DB
Special Teams
Coaching

My grading changes week to week as the play goes. But give me your overall grade to date.

Fun. I'll play... but I add my opinion plus fifty cents will buy you a newspaper. Except on Sundays. My grades are for the entire season, and current trends don't mean anything... only grading on the whole.

QB A - Can't find too many faults from our QB play
RB C - No real breakaway threats, yeoman's job at RB. Not bad, but nothing extraordinary
OL B - Love the depth and prospects for the future, we need to get better at zone blocking for the run and short yardage situational running
Receivers B - Would have been an "A" prior to last weekend's dropsies, and this might be influenced by the fact we have such ridiculous talent at WR, the grade is based on the embarassment of riches.
DL B - DL play, more than any other position, seems to be determining whether we win or lose. We were bad at SUU and last weekend, but have been great in other games
LB B - LBs have been great recently, except for the first half last weekend, but are dragged down by a horrible performance against Montana
DB A - Hard to find many faults here. Generally speaking, we defend the pass well although there have been a few hiccups.
ST B - A very solid job by our kicker, although we have had a few problems on punt blocking and punt returns. Kickoff coverage has been unreal.
Coaches A - I don't always agree with some of the stuff we do, but the results speak for themselves. I wish we'd have a little more commitment to the running game and I think we blitz well and could do it more.

Sorry, I need to re-do because I didn't pay attention to the no pluses or minuses instruction.

Tight end is probably a C. I wish we'd get the ball to these guys more. I'm a little concerned that we generally have so much trouble running out of double-tight, but we are enormously predictable in that set. FWIW, we finally started to mix it up out of double-tight the last couple of weeks, and I think that helps us immensely.
