Great effort? I did not see the game, but I can look at the statistics and see that we once again allowed the opponent to shoot +50% and 46% from the three point line. That is not indicative of a great effort.
Coach shouldnt need "lots of video" to figure things out. Simply look at the fact that we are allowing 86 points per game, and only scoring 74. Or that the other teams are shooting 49% against us. We are not going to be a consistently good team until we at least ATTEMPT to play a little defense.

I can read statistics and both teams had an equal number of shots but we didn't shoot as well especially our free throws.
These are the facts:
1 Both teams had 85 shots and 21 free throws.
2 We out rebounded them 39 to 29.
3 Fouls were similar...19 to 17 but both teams gave up 21 free throws
Doesn't seem like lack of defence.
Where did we lose it?
Turnovers were 17 to 9, Steals were 3 to 7 and assists?? 14 to 25 - this is where we lost it and that my friend is offense or should I say lack of it

I usually don't agree with old time but must in this case. Ask any coach or knowledgable fan whether a team will win consistently allowing another team to shoot 50%. The answer will be a resounding no. We have a talented team. Coach will get them playing harder on defense. Once he does we will win. Offense is the least of our worries. People should be fans but should also be realistic. 50% shooting by our opponents isn't conducive to winning. Period. It will be good to have some home games soon.
If coaching was so easy we would all be coaching. Winning and losing games is not just about keeping the opponents percent shots down. It is much more complex than that and that was what these hard road games were about. All players need to defend the ball - no doubt about that. They are all defenders when the opponents have the ball but some players aren't playing a full game. Point guards and shooting guards MUST defend. But shooting less than 60% of our free throws to over 80% by the opposition should be looked out too. This is easily addressed. 5 easy points lost

What they need is game analysis so they can play to their strengths and work on their weaknesses. They essentially need to think about what wins games and less about their individual stats. If they play a team game good stats will come. Go eags :notworthy:
