GREAT WIN OVER Eastern Washington

Good team win over EWU. 1st half the WSU defense set the tone of the game, shutting down the EWU offense and shut them out. The only score that EWU had was a pick 6.

Welcome back to The Beast #95 with 3 SACKS for minus 16 yards and 4 TFL for minus 17 yards. #95 was all over the field including 3 QB hurries and almost a Safety. Not a bad day's work for a DT; it looked like the Defense had a different flavor with The Beast back.

Still having problems in the Red Zone, that is a glaring statistic that is going to prevent us from playing like Champions. One snap and clear.....let's get ready for next week.

Congrats Wildcats,

We still need you to take care of business on Halloween.

My cats made too many mistakes to recover, our offense was shut down in the second half, but our Defense still looks tough. I had your game recorded and watched it late saturday but will have to watch it again this week when my head is clearer.

This was written after the loss to Montana St and prior to the win at Eastern Washington.

"This team wins when Cameron Higgins protects the ball, and loses when he turns the ball over.

Weber is 3-5 in its last 8 games, dating back to the last 3 games of 2008. In the three wins (@ Cal Poly, Idaho St, and @ Portland St), Higgins did not turn the ball over. In the five losses (E Wash, @ Montana, @ Wyoming, @ Colorado St, and Montana St), Higgins had 17 turnovers (4 against E Wash, 2 against Montana, 5 against Wyoming, 3 against Colorado St, and 3 against Montana St). Of these 17 turnovers, 15 were interceptions and 2 were fumbles. But Weber can usually survive 1 turnover by Higgins. If you look at all of last season and this season (19 games) Weber is 11-1 when Higgins has no more than 1 turnover, and 1-6 when he has 2 or more turnovers. The only exceptions to this was when Higgins had 4 turnovers (1 INT, 3 fumbles lost) in a 17-10 win vs. N Colorado, and had 1 turnover (1 fumble lost) in a 21-37 loss @ Utah. I think in these games Weber's talent was so much superior to N Colorado's that it was able to survive (although it made for a close game), and Utah's talent was so much superior to Weber's that it couldn't survive even 1 turnover. The fact is that the QB is by far the most important player on the field and Cameron Higgins is such a talented QB that the team cannot afford turnovers by such a talented player playing the most important position on the field. Other players can have bad games and it won't hurt the team anywhere close to when the QB has a bad game. Hate to put so much on one player, but that's just the way I see it. I'm just glad we have such a talented QB, or we wouldn't even be in the position we have been in the last two years."

Looks like my theory held true in this one. Including last year and this year, Weber is now 12-1 in games when Cameron turns the ball over no more than once, and is 1-6 when he has two or more turnovers.

5,370?

And Blackfalkin spent all that time telling us that EWU's football stadium was one of the best. Right

Speaking of which, I havent seen him for a while on Championsubdivision, wonder where he went.
