Greatest Game Ever?

What was the single greatest game you watch at the Dee? This thread excludes all NCAA tournament games obviously. Cause it would be hard to top that N Carolina game. And it wasn't at the Dee.

Maybe you meant to say home game?

Home games since my day...considering I'm class of '06:

2003 Big Sky title game EWU @ WSU

2004 Big Sky Champions EWU came to WSU and lost with the assistance of 8 three-ptrs from Johnny Hamilton

2003 BYU-Provo @ Weber - Jermaine schooled Eminem and Arujo

2002 USU @ Weber - Brad Barton hit a buzzer three-ptr to win the game

And I guess I should say the 2007 Big Sky title game because of its significance, maybe even those 2 home games where Patten had 7 dunks in the one and 6 in the other, even Harold didn't do that!

This wasn't at the Dee, but the 2003 game at MSU, I believe it was our 12 straight win and we had about 50 students there and after the game ended Coach Cravens came over and was gettin crazy jumpin around with all of us students. That was cool and hilarious!

Our students need to put some bus road trips together, those are way fun and it gets a lot of students to a road game. I think we payed $20 was all, 2 days, hotel, food, game tkt.

I'll hit up the Purple Pak for a bus trip. If it happens let me know if anyone wants to go, I'm sure they'll let some non-students go with em.

That game where Hamilton made all those 3s was awesome. That's about the time I started really betting into Weber basketball. I remember on his last one he caught the ball by the student section, and funkystride yelled, "shoot it, Johnnie" Johnnie shot it and it went it. Weber won and we RUSHED THE COURT.
And of course both big sky tournament games last year were off the hook!

Yep, Johnnie Hamilton going off from 3 land. I still can't believe he heard me from the stands and shot. I actually said, "Just crank it, Johnny!" You could tell he heard me and then let a 25 footer fly! My greatest moment ever as a fan!

Hey Funky...

I do recall your moment in the '03 title game on ESPN when the camera focused in on you holding a sign - Lebron Come to Weber.

I thought that was ur best Dee moment? lol

I do admit that was my best sign ever. It would've been worth it. Let LeBron come and let Nike sign him to an endorsement. We would've only been suspended from tournament play for three or four years... and could've had LeBron be a 'Cat!

It would have been worth it! We only go to the tourney every 4 yrs anyway!

It's probably already mentioned, but I remember the game that was played in the Dee Events Center and Johnny Hamilton (A.K.A. Sloth) splashed in two three pointers in Brendon Merritts eye to beat Ray Giacoletti's Eastern Washington Eagles. To see the look on his face after he splashed the second one was priceless. Those two shots have gotten me through so many hard times in my life. I truly have a testimony of Weber State Basketball.

One more thing. We are going to have the 6th man shirts made hopefully in time for the Dec 28 game against San Francisco. We are taking a bus to the game at Idaho State on Feb 2nd. Also your going to have to let me know if you want to come in the 15 passenger van I'm going to drive. Get your seat early. I will try and put something up on the Purple Pak Website for people to sign up. Hopefully by Dec 28th. Prices will be determined momentarily.
We need everyone to come support the 'Cats in potatoville as they take on the Bengal Nation of Idaho State.
Jeff Tingey is up at ISU and he said he would get us good seats and he says hello to everyone. We will be playing in the Lol-t Arena.

There are so many to chose from! In 2000 When "The Show" broke the Dee scoring record with 41 against Idaho State. Brad Barton's miracle 3 at the Buzzer against Utah State. By the way the best part of that game was the fact that we were behind by 23 points in the second half and came back. I was standing in the Pit behind the Western Basket right below a Utah State section, to watch their reaction when he hit that three was beautiful. The night of Johnny was unreal... I was standing a couple of seats away from Funkystride, and I also can testify, that he told Johnny to shoot it...BEAUTIFUL! The 03 Championship game, I still have dreams channting 17 straight and rushing the court. However, my personal fav. was in the early 90s when Weber beat BYU-Provo in OT at the Dee... I was only in Middle School, but it was the greatest game I have ever watched... Al Hamilton, Stan Rose, Elroy Miller and Kirk Smith what a game.

I totally forgot a couple... Last season against NAU. With 2 mins left I thought it was over we were down by 11 and not playing well. Suddenly, "The General" lead the troops to victory in one of the most miraculous comebacks ever. One of the most one-sided Championship games in 1995 against Montana. Weber destroyed them... It was over in the first 5 minuets.
