Griz are laying the smack down on Liberty

I'm watching it. Griz running game very solid as well as defense. Mckinney is very elusive but rarely throws the ball over 10 yards. Both of LU's TD's were through the air. From what I have seen so far this season, UM secondary is not great...I think we can hurt them through the air and our defense (especially LB's) is fast enough to stop a lot of the stuff they do with the quick throws to the flats, screens, etc. The verdict is still out on both EWU and UM, IMO. South Dakota is a poor team and the close loss to App doesn't look as good this week as last time I checked they were getting blasted by the Citadel...yes, the Citadel.

Liberty isn't very good, and I'm not sure why people thought they'd hold close with Montana.

They would've hung close or won had they not given up ST TDs or DEF TDs.

So does that mean Montana is legit? or Liberty wasnt a good enough litmus test?

IMO, Montana's offense will be lights out by the end of the season, their run D right now is pretty good, but their pass D is terrible. Their offense gives up the ball a couple times a game right now, but their D is opportunistic and creating turnovers of their own, and scoring off them half the time. UM gave up 321 yards passing (35/45, 2TDs 1INT). Liberty had more total offense and 1st downs, but also threw a pick 6 and gave up two fumbles.

So I'd say Liberty was a decent test, but the Griz made some key turnovers that led directly to points.

Wins like Montana, MSU, and Cal Poly had today, all really help the Big Sky, I know most of us like to see the Griz lose, but we don't want to see them lose in Non-Conference. Non-Conf wins for the Big Sky really help when it comes to the playoffs. Wins in non-conf play really show how strong our conference is and helps the top teams in our conference receive strong seeds come playoff time and the bubble teams make it in. The big sky now has 4 FBS wins this year, we really have a strong conference this year, I can't wait for the conference games to begin!

Weber state will be tough next week as they have lost 3 in a row and they will be hungry for a win, but I think we go in rested and take control from the beginning.

Agreed on all accounts. As long as the cadence and center/QB exchange issues have been cleared up, and Padron and the WRs have improved their timing, we should roll similar to what McNeese did to them tonight, but with a heavier pass to run ratio. McNeese was heavy run.
