Great job by Bill Chaves, Troy Kirby, and co. 80% sold out to EWU fans before the tickets even went on sale to the general public. This not only means that Montana will have less fans, but any prospective Eastern fans from Spokane who wanted to see the turf will have to wait until NAU - which should increase the numbers for that game as well.

As for Montana fans, quit whining, pony up and increase your donation to the Griz Athletic Association so you can get one of the 500 allotment which is exactly what you give us. Other than that, enjoy the game on KPAX.

That is great news. Just found out today that the family has 4 tickets for the game, so we're all set here. I am still wondering what the situation with students will be, since they usually get in for free and don't ever buy tickets in advance. Will they still be let in even with the game being sold out? It would be hard to imagine that they would actually turn any students away. Let's pack 'em all in, standing room only! :lol:

Oh no. I can promise you that 80% didn't go to Eag fans. I personally purchased 22 tickets. And I didn't pay the eaa fee.

Congrats? Everyone has said all along that you could wait until September 1st and get tickets without having to pay the EAA fee.........so, I don't quite understand the victim mentality by some UM folks. UM was allotted the same number as EWU for games in WA-Griz, 500. Artificially inflating the prices is nothing that other schools don't do (including Montana).

I am sure that you guys will still travel very well. It'll be a record crowd, for sure. And maybe 80% of those remaining tickets didn't go to Eagle fans, but there are going to be far more of us there than in the past. I can promise you that.

Perhaps you were a part of the 500 allotment that EWU gave your athletic association.

Some Griz fans might have payed the EAA fee, purchased multiple tickets, and split the cost. We thank them for their contribution.

There are of course other Griz fans who had friends and family who are existing EAA members purchase their tickets for them. I know several of these.

So you are right, not a full 80% were neccessarily EWU fans, but the point is that 80% of the tickets sold prior to 9/1 had an EAA or EWU season ticket connection, and that indicates that less Griz fans will be attending the game than in the past.

Good for EWU, panties in a bunch for Griz fans. :lol:
