Griz Fans Class Acts

Yesterday was my first game in Missoula and was treated very well before during and after the game.

Attended a pre-game tailgate where I was the only person in Red and was treated kindly.

What a great environment to watch a game a live. Hope EWU can raise enough money before Beau leaves to upgrade The Inferno.

During the game the section we were in, I received the same response, I could tell as the game went on the looks at my EWU jacket got a little longer but mostly the comments were "man, EWU is a good team".

At halftime we went to the beer and received the same response.

After the game went downtown for dinner and had quite a few Griz fans come up and say congrats and the better team won.

Great day to be an Eag!

Same experience for me. I road tripped by myself with plans to meet up with friends but got there early. Immediately got "taken in" by a Griz tailgate as their token Eagle. Great people and a fantastic time! The win helped a little ;)

Later, a large group of us were hosted by the Griz-side of Talon's family at their tailgate. I'm hoping they all come to Cheney next year so we can return the favor.

An idiot here or there but no different than our idiots....

The only bad experience I had there was when a truly shit faced "fan" threw dog crap at me when I walked by. The funny thing was he was so plastered that he missed me and ended up with dog shit all over his hand. I often wondered if when he sobered up he kept wondering where that awful smell was coming from
Otherwise I too enjoy my visits there and it's one of the reasons I refuse to generalize about their fans or ours (both have good and bad). I do think you have to be careful with your car there if it's got school colors flying but that's just being prudent.

Sometimes I do wish that the average Griz fan gave us as much credit as we do them (arrogance is such a turn off) but whatever.

It is very impressive that they as such a large fan base given the small population in Montana as compared to eastern Washington. I agree virtually all of the fans are very friendly and knowledgeable of their team and the game. Now some of the clown on eGriz are a different matter, but as you said HannahO, there are bad apples in every bunch.
Great place to watch a game.

We were also treated very well by griz fans. The weather yesterday was perfect. I had to take my sweatshirt off in the second half it was so warm. That is the first time I have sat in the upper level (latest addition to the stadium) and it was a decent seat. In that SE upper part I was able to see all of the EAGLE fans in the SEZ and behind the bench. My wife and I thought that was the most EAGS fans we have ever seen at WAGrizz.

We were all treated great by Griz fans for the whole game. Second game we've been to and have had a good time at both win or lose.
