ISU Senior Shares BSC POW AWARD
Weber State’s Caitlin Anderson and Idaho State’s Michelle Grohs share this week’s Big Sky Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award for games played fromFeb. 2-9.
Weber State rallied from an eight-point second half deficit for a 66-55 win over Northern Colorado on Thursday. The sophomore forward notched 16 points and 17 rebounds in the Wildcats’ third-straight conference win.
Anderson shot 46.2 percent from the field and nailed 66.7 percent from 3-point territory. She recorded her sixth double-double of the season and added three assists and a steal. Seven of Anderson’s 17 total rebounds were offensive. The native of Reno, Nev. currently leads the Big Sky in rebounding with 9.2 boards a game.
Grohs led the Bengals to a 63-58 win over the Bears on Saturday. She scored a career-high 27 points and added 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double this season. The senior went 55.6 percent from the field and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line. She added two assists and one block as Idaho State moved into third place in the Big Sky standings.
