Half time in Fargo

Best tailgate in America
Best and friendliest fans in the country. And polite
Now for the half
Wsu great offensive line protection. We officially threw our first long pas of the Season for a 70 plus touchdown , surprise surprise. Cam looking good at the Wr position glad he recovered from his concussion.
Running back play horrible. Wsu keeps giving 26 the ball, please stop doing that.
Qb perfect throw in the bomb. Qb keeps trying to throw the out pattern off his back foot and that's why it keeps sailing on him. He needs to step forward on the out and get his weight on his front foot
OC play call still sucks. No screens no misdirection no counters. This offensive cannot just line up and shove it down the defensive throat.

Defense of Wsu. You ain't playing OSU any move. This is a real offense that does throw screens for 50 yard Tds

I guess we're seeing the huge difference between the top of the BSC and Weber. It sucks to loose the optimism and excitement before BSC play even begins.
- Less than 40 yards a punt isn't going to cut it when Weber may never convert on 3rd.
- The predictable 3rd down play calling is tough to watch-- 3 & 7 = throw underneath for 3-4 yards IF it's completed.
- The defense giving up 9 yards a carry through much of the 1st half.
- There is soooo much space between ndsu O and Weber D.
- Still seeing both throws over receivers heads and either QB or receivers not knowing their routes.
Maybe 3 wins would be something to be excited about (sigh).

It must look different in person, watching it on-line looks like Clark is getting hurried and pressured consistently.

Clark is getting hurried and pressure cuz he holds the ball too long.
He isn't on the same page with his receivers
Over throwing with no touch again this week
Deep ball to Cam was on point. Other than that Clark is questionable at best

Are u nuts. He hasn't gotten sacked in 6 quarters because he is afraid to stay in the pocket. He has had several throws where he had 5 to 6 seconds per throw.

We have been losing every game so the defense hasn't had to stunt or blitz wait till teams start dialing up the pressure.

I said to Shoot the OC last game. I was wrong, we should hang him!!!!

We keep lining up full backs and tight ends on the outside on passing downs and the defense is laughing at us

Let's not give our defense any slack. Ndsu is picking Apart our our linebackers

Lots of ankle tackling
Wsu defense and special teams has twice as many points scored than our offense in 7 1/2 quarters. Good news is our OC doesn't coach defense or special teams.

They announced the player of game with 9 minutes plus left in the game wow talk about respect. Now the 2ns and 3rd stringers in the game. But that makes sense. WSU has had their 2nd and 3rd string in the whole game.

3 minutes left and we are running the ball three plays in a row down by however many ever down??????

I guess I'm nuts. For the 3rd and half of the forth quarters, timing from the snap until the pressure and/or the throw I got 1.94 sec average, 1 sac, 1 int, and 2 4-yard passes on 3rd & 7-8. I din't see him vacate the pocket either.

Finally a different QB look (Leckington)!

Same quality play calling or game plan-- it seems a pretty simple concept: if you're looking at 3rd or even 4th and x, you try to run routes >=x but then again Weber doesn't have the same math help they once did.

Listening to the game on the radio is always a treat, but in between the disconnects it was good (?) to hear Coach Hill recognize after this game that the Wildcats got a good old fashioned butt kicking. He gave no excuses, didn't put lipstick on the pig, and accepted responsibility of the team's bad performance as head coach. He challenged his staff & players in the locker room & said it begins with himself to do a better job.

Would think that most of us penciled in 2 losses these first two games, but the breakdowns in play have been disappointing for sure. :twocents:

Post Game,
Coach Hill did call it like it was, An Old Fashioned butt kicking!
If you ever get a chance to come to FARGO, Best place in America to go to a College football game and trust me I have been to all of them.....ND, RoseBowl, LSU, The Big House, The SHOE.....
Offense is averaging less than a 1/2 a point a quarter in two games. Defense and special teams has scored twice as many points as the offense in two games. I wonder if they will show those stats on the game release next week. I am sure they are shaking in their boots at Sac State.
One correction to my fellow Cat fan. I spoke to soon on the NUTS comment. Just looked at some game tape. You were right, QB and WR's timing is way off, horrible. Receivers are scared to death and cutting off their routes to short. All of those small crossing routes only work when they clear out to the opposite side, QB is throwing to early thats why we are only picking up 3 yards on those plays. 53 yards rushing for the game. How many times did we run the ball??????????????? We have thrown one deep pass in two games and it was for 6!! Lets stop running FB's and TE's on Vert routes and start running someone that can actual run a VERT! Last year we had some very close calls, this year two games and two blowouts.....

Some of the most inept offense I've ever seen. 6 points in 2 games. Outgained 977-384. Time of possession 44:31-75:29.

:agree: x2

I fully expected them to be 0-2 at this point but also expected to see an improvement from last season but see (and feel) the opposite. I know they're young and I need to be patient but I don't want to die before they have a winning record again. I hope I have plenty of years left, but who knows.

Comparing a very similar start to last year:
2015 - @PACx; @NDSU; (vsSAC) - PPG 10-33; -23
2014 - @PACx; vsNDSU; @SAC - PPG 17-37; -20
the home opener will be very telling.

Final posting and then we need to muster up everything we have and make sure we defeat SAC STATE!! SAC STATE IS A DO OR DIE WIN FOR WSU!!!

Just got back to the hotel in Fargo. Had dinner at a place called Mezzaluna in the Alley. Incredible, as good as it gets! Fans where so nice they even bought our drinks at the game.

I am assuming that the Cats are Landing in Ogden now and trying to figure out what happened during the past two weeks???? Love to be a fly on the wall during the coaches meeting with Jay Hill this week. Coach hill seems to be a no non sense coach and I think he is the right guy for the job. However, his assistant coaches are not showing up at all. I don't know where we go on offense from here. Blow it up and start from scratch. If I see them line up against Sac State and not make some significant changes in Offensive strategy and Player Personnel, then Coach Hill needs to make a move, Yes I said it! How many consecutive 3 and out Series can a college team have in a given game. We have to be leading the nation in this category. Number 13 is twice the running back as 26, why in the world do we keep playing 26? Nice 104 yard run to the house 13#, loved it, you got chased down at the 10 and still broke the tackles to get to the end zone. Please Stop immediately lining up TE's and RB's in spread formation on the outside SE and WR positions, none of them have caught a pass from this ridiculous formation and guess what they never will. Most teams don't run RB's against CB and TE's against Safeties because they are just so slow and are never going to get Vertical. Please keep the RB and TE's inside and use them for delayed releases, bubble screens, middle screens or rub patterns inside not VERT's on the outside.

Defense needs to regroup big time! NDSU whipsawed our defense big time....Remember NDSU had their 2nd string QB in during the 3rd Qtr., otherwise it could of looked a lot worse on the scoreboard than it did. Our linebackers where getting beat up inside as well as getting smoked on the edges. LB's, when you jump the flat on the RB, and then the RB releases upfield , please clothesline the RB, or grab the face mask or tackle them, it only results in a 15 yard penalty not a 50 reception to the house with you running helplessly 10 yards behind them. Yes that would be you 54! Don't worry every team that seems the film from this game will continue to try it again so be ready for it so you don't leave your jock on the field.

Special teams were the high for the Cats, scoring our only second score of the game. Nice to watch big run to the house by the big guy 13. Even though I would like to see our Punter just once Punt it longer than 35 yards in a game and help us get out of the terrible field position that we have had the entire season, yes that starts with the kicking game.? There has to be a kid in Kanab or Manti or Moab that can average more than 35 yards a punt with zero hang time.

This is college football lets get serious! SEE you in Ogden next week at SAC STATE, hope the old coach we kicked out of WSU who is now at Sac State doesn't get his revenge against Gary our AD and the Wildcat Club. This should be a good win for the cats. If your a football player in Nor Cal your first call is Stanford, If not Stanford then you Go to Cal Berkley, can't make it at Berkley you go Cal Poly... can't make it at Cal Poly you go to UC Davis, If you can't make it at UC Davis you Go to Sac State, can't make it at Sac State go back to playing fantasy football on Sunday's.
