Half Way, Where are we?

10 games in to a 20 game conf. schedule we are 9-1, one game ahead of the next two teams and two games ahead of the two teams after that. Of the top 5 teams, we have played each of the other 4 on the road and gone 3-1 in those games. Our loss was to UM by 2 points, in Montana. Of our next 10 games, 6 are at home.

We are clearly in charge of our own destiny. We need to win out at home and get as many road wins as we can.

This coming week we play three of the top six teams, all on our home floor. Winning these games would put us in a commanding position to win the BSC championship. That is the league championship. They run the BSC Tournament to determine the entry to the NCAA tournament, but it is not to determine the championship. Like everyone else, I feel that they should put it back to the Champion hosting or drop it all together. It might be a good thing if we were getting more than one invitation to the dance. As it is, it doesn't draw enough fans to make it pay off. Seems like a waste of time and money. :wall: :twocents:

 Right on! I wonder the vote now days if the conference put it up for the Pres.('s) vote, probably just UM & WSU would vote for it?! You would think those usually in the bottom half would opt to save on the expenses to go for just a slim chance to win (with the idea that the bottom 2-4 teams are out.) Let alone the conference office would make more $$ share from a higher attendance tourney at the regular season champ.

It's readily apparent the attendance has been dismal in Reno & Boise. The last minute travel plans excuse...is it really that big a deal now that No. Dakota is out & SUU going to be? Sac St. could rent a larger venue or let the 2nd place team host on the unlikely chance they are it ( ). Give it up on a neutral site for a one-bid conference. :coffee:

Very good point. With North Dakota out, and SUU going, it really only comes down to Sacramento State being able to host, if they can’t provide a venue, the site goes down to 2nd place. I also think only six top teams make the tournament to put some emphasis on the season like was the format in the past.

Don’t care if the neutral site all teams format is profitable, it sucks and no one cares. Like others, I’d drop the tournament altogether if format stays the same.

Wildcats are in a good position at halfway mark, but can’t let up…this week is the week Wildcats can put some distance between themselves or end up looking at a team passing them up. Like the momentum. Big game tomorrow.

Another format would be to invite everyone, have the first and second round games on the floor of the higher seeds, and play the final 4 at the site of the champion. The whole travel thing is BS. if they can throw together these COVID makeup games, they can certainly do this. If a team doesn't want to host a game, they should be able to buy out of it.

This is how it would work; the bottom 8 teams would play rounds 1 and 2 on home floors. That would produce two teams to move on to the final 4, to be held at the home of the champion. First and second place would only play in the final 4. Simple and easily pulled off. The BSC offices would probably make more money off of that format. :twocents:

i think suu and msu have really tough remaining schedules that will take an amazing effort for either to finish in the top 3. msu's famous meltdown could be a reality this yr. my hope is that sprinkle is as good as im hoping to raise up their program. would be great to see him finish top 4 in his first real season. i just prefer that suu and griz finish 2nd and 3rd if weber can manage to obtain the 1 seed. :-D

After this week's games with UM and MSU on our floor, we will have the most favorable schedule of the top 5. Get through this week with wins and the grass looks a lot greener. :coffee:

ya that is right. if we have success vs the montanas this week it will be super frustraiting to the rest to see our remaining schedule and also to realize our new secret weapon makes us almost unbeatable.
