Hard to build excitement

we dont need to call it a season for losing one road game. we are 2-1 with 5 games left and suu. stupid fbs losses dont matter. big sky only.

idaho state then suu who has 2 fcs losses, then griz who lost to sac and almost ewu, then msu who is beating everyone, then nau and psu.

News flash... We actually have a fan base! Ill bet anyone 50 bucks we have at least 9k at the next game! After we beat ISU we will be 3-1 in conference and as long as we can get past SUU we only need to go 3-1 in the final 4 conference games and we will be 7-4 with 2 fcs losses and will surely qualify for the playoffs and possibly a home game. Eastern is a good team. Don't forget they lost to Washington by 3, who handed it to Utah today. I understand some fans can't get excited about a team without a shot but trust me, we still got a shot and a lot of great football is remaining! The team certainly has the talent to make a run!

I can't believe that some people wanna throw a whole season away from one loss. Just imagine what would happen if the team thought that way. We WILL regroup and we will get to the play-offs.

Newsflash.... The remaining Home games with maybe the exception of ISU are going to be butt_a$$ cold. I mean 2 games in November, give me a break. Crowds are going to be sparse and piss poor. Cold weather games last year, 6,700 last year with the Griz game (quite a few Griz) suppose to be the big draw game. 4,800 for the PSU game, of which 300 stayed to watch a great finish.

Here's the problem
- Mac is 2-5 vs. the Griz, and never victorious in Missoula. Montana may have corrected their woes in the new found quarterback play of Gerald Kemp.

- Mac is 1-5 vs. #3 Montana St., another top notch quarterback to contain spells trouble. With history as a guide we have a 16% chance of winning. They toppled a team we couldn't the week before.

- PSU is another worrisome game on the road. The pistol provided all we could handle last year, and more.

-Then we've got to handle an improved ISU, at home (we will).
-SUU will be another incredibly tough game at Home against one of the best quarterbacks in all of FCS but I think we will beat them at home.
-NAU will be tough again at home, but we should win this one too.

Bottom line is we really couldn't afford to lose to EWU yesterday, with UM, MSU, and PSU still hanging out there. WSU was exposed..... Time to get ready for Hoops.....

Your killing me, lock up the shop, and sell out and just hope all our talent find nice homes in Bozeman, Flagstaff, Cedar City, etc etc. My my my we have some hard core fans. Your daddy ought to put a whoopin on your sorry fanny for being so weak. Are you saying that WEBER has never been in this HORRIBLE situation before? With the talent we have now and most being freshman i kind of thought this year would start like this and possibly end a little shaky but to throw the towel in? ? ? . I am sure this has gone this way in Provo,SLC, Logan, Green Bay, Chicago, and even San Fransisco, we will be just fine and with the talent we may be good for several years now so toughen up and walk it off.

No one is saying that the future isn't bright, but it probably isn't going to happen this year. We needed that win for playoff contention. Now, we have to beat SUU at home, Montana & Big sky officials in Missoula, and Montana State at home. That's assuming we beat tough teams like PSU and NAU. Heck, ISU is even playing much better. That game equates with the Sac State game last year, you cannot lose an early road game in the Big Sky and expect to be in the playoffs.

Really?! The Cats are going to win out. ISU, PSU - givens. SUU, NAU and Montana State are at home. Montana - they're beatable this year up there. Thankfully for 1/2Court Cat, he'll have his hoops games to watch and won't have to worry about watching us in the playoffs.

I see what your saying, i really do, however isn't every year just like this to a point? If we cant get it done this year then that is the way it goes but you really don't know what we are even about yet. We may have the first or second place team right here at WSU and wont know till the end of the season, all these other teams are going to get beat and maybe by us. All i meant, i wont be rude, is before you start rolling up the new carpet and bringing out the basketball guys lets give the football guys all our support and see at the end of the season if so and so has to beat this team and that team has to loose to that other team in order for whoever to make the playoffs, it just may be us. i don't have clue what the bball guys are going to do or how good the other teams will be yet, that's moons away.

I will ALWAYS support the Cats. I knew that the eliminated themselves from playoff contention last year and I was proud of them for what they acc omplished. They fought every game. I expect to see them fight every game for the rest of this season. But, I don't see it happening for us, and every fan should be pissed off about it. Prove me wrong Wildcats, prove me wrong.

Wow! Who is this Bringback1/2 Court pessimist? As new to the fan base this year, I guess I shouldn't be surprised there are outspoken idiot fans in Ogden also, but WOW! http://www.bigskyfans.com/wildcats/posting.php?mode=reply&f=3&t=2609&sid=b4f1cefa2c75dbc4f9a28acc45a040d9#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Look, a conference road loss to the Defending National Champs is NOT the end of the world. Either you support this team and the Wildcats no matter what, or else you don't.
I personally support the Wildcat NO MATTER WHAT. And for you fair weather fans out there that jump ship :finger:

Its a tough loss, but this season is far from over, we need to regroup, use this bye weekend to help with injuries, and then get after Idaho State.

Thanks to scheduling 2 fbs games, we can only afford one more loss if we want to stay eligible for the playoffs. That will be tough to do, but its not impossible.

If you want to blame anything for not building excitment, its our 2 annual FBS games and starting out 0-2 every year.

GO WILDCATS

Honestly, I dont' care how good the football team is doing, I'm always excited for the start of basketball. However, I'm a fan of Weber State football too. I figure there is always room for both sports. Anyway, giving up on the football team becaue of one loss is pretty short-sighted. I know, no matter how the Cats look from here on out, I will be at all the games and watching the away games. We have to remember that this Weber State team is really young, highly athletic, but really young. This game is great experience for them. Should they have won, yes. Did they, no. For some strange reason, Eastern has our number. This game reminded me of the 2008 loss. Last offensive play of the game for Weber results in a fumble right when the Cats were driving for the end zone.

One area of great concern is our LINE...WTF. Our line looked terrible. Is Eastern DL really that good? Also, I was really upset how our team came out at the start of the game. If this team ever plays a full game consistently watch out!!

I BACK MAC AND THE 'CATS

I dont think it matters if our team is 4-1 or 1-4. we show up when they do well and support them and then when they are not so good we dont? What does that say to the team when they run onto the field and the stands are almost empty?? "Everyone in this town (including weber fans) think you suck." Damn even utah state, who cant seem secure a win, draws 18,000 to there games.. atleast Logan still supports there team.

Everyone is excited for basketball but we still have 4 home games including homecoming so lets show them some support while they kick some a$$

There is a lot of football left to play. One loss doesn't mean that the season is over.

I'm getting kind of sick of losing on the first weekend in October though!!
