Only issue is UC Davis....I am not sure they should be up there ahead of us, but whatever...its a preseason poll.

Premonition: After each receive a 1st rd bye playoff game it's UC Davis vs EWU in Cheney.
:+1:
Might as well just put it on the schedule because that is a lock to happen.

Interesting that Hero rates three of the four teams Eastern played in the playoffs ahead of us. NDSU is understandable; so far as I'm concerned they're #1 until proven otherwise (although this poll has them at #2).

Curious, did anyone think there was much qualitative difference between Nicholls, UC Davis, and Maine? I thought all three of those teams were about on the same level when they hit the playoffs. The score differences largely boiled down to how Eastern played. Eastern played well against Nicholls, mediocre against UC Davis, and phenomenal against Maine.

We arguably have the best, if not 2nd best O-Line in the country. We probably have the most electric QB in the country, Custer is back at RB with Merritt, and we are absolutely loaded at WR....We are going to score a boatload of points this year.

If we can find some replacements in the defensive secondary we are going to have another trip to Frisco this year...

EWU never gets their due in these polls. :ohno:
I agree with you that Ndsu should be #1 until proven otherwise, having said that, EWU destroyed Maine & beat UC Davis with their “all-everything” Qb under center. Is Jake Maier a great Qb? Yes, but he got beat by EBIII in the playoffs and in the regular season. EWU at #7 simply can’t be justified.
EWU behind two teams that lost in Cheney in the playoffs, Jacksonville State, who lost to Maine in the second round & JMU whom lost to freakin’ Colgate in the second round! The only team ahead of EWU that could be justified is SDSU, MAYBE.

Maine does get a pass on Delaware and JMU again this season, so how good will they be after a HC change? Guess there could be a let down for the Eagles after losing the Natty and changing both coordinators but agree with marceagfan that Eastern is loaded of offense again. Time will tell. Fully expect to win the BigSky if key players stay healthy.
