I was just trying to make conversation.

One of the teachers I work with said he was that when he was in high school, he was one of the top players in his conference and there was few there who could stop him. When he played college ball he was going up against kids who was as good as if not better than he was and it was a wake up call to the fact he was no longer the big fish in his little pond. Now he was just another fish in a larger pond where most were the nearly the same and a select few were bigger.

He said he had to work even harder to make it and saw lots of kids who were tops in their conference just couldn't cut it in the college game and dropped out.
