The positions hit hard by graduation are QB, RB and LB. The QB position is being discussed on another thread but there are at least 5 vying for that position and I think more than one of them is a capable replacement.

RB is another position with a bunch of capable replacements and it might be RB by committee for a while. Its a long season and I feel good about the depth considering the loss of the two seniors from last year.

LB, this is the position I'm most unsure of. I'm not even sure who the leading candidates are. Scanning the roster and all the LB seem to be on the light side. There are a couple of players listed as DL who seem to either fit the bill size wise and or played LB in high school. I think this position concerns me the most.
We had a talented LB who wanted to play FBS and transfered to a crap program that won 2 games last year and are expected to do about the same this year. I guess the grass isnt always greener.

No one has any information why Ojoh left the program. He had a really good game against Bama last season and maybe that was enough for him. The new coach at NMSU is a good coach. Hope Ojoh has a great year and gets his shot at the NFL. He was considered a top 10 LB transfer in the portal at the end of the season and then he decided to stay at NMSU. Want to say they rated him as a .88 transfer on 247. Eagles miss his presence for sure. LB is the big unknown but there is a LOT of speed there. I expect Coach Copp to do good things with the defense this season despite the schedule as the base of talent at DB and DL looks very good by BSC standards.

From the 2022 Season thread:
Going down the roster to see what there is to see.... a couple new faces... Add to the list if you noticed any unannounced changes. Seems there may be a few of special teams adds here.

Jaren Banks LB Transfer from Rice: two seasons where he appeared in four games and recorded a tackle. In 2020, he saw action in three games. In 2021, he recorded one tackle in his lone game against Arkansas.

DL 6'3" 258 lbs Robert Cooper Transfer from Boise last year. Hope he's healthy and ready to go. No pic on roster though.

Sherwin King TR LB from Fresno: Played three seasons at Fresno State, appearing in 19 games with three starts. He recorded 23 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. Lots of special teams play

Alphonse Oywak TR DB WSU Played in two games across two seasons and recorded three tackles.

Derek Tommasini TR LB Idaho: Played at Idaho for two seasons, beginning with the Spring of 2020-21 and the Fall of 2021, appearing in six games total at the linebacker position. In 2020-21, he made his Vandal debut against UC Davis and recorded 13 tackles (1.5 for loss) in the season-finale at Northern Arizona. The 2021 season saw him play in six games, totaling seven tackles.

Austin York TR TE/LS Butte College: Spent two seasons at Butte College where his dad coaches the defensive line. He played both tight end and long snapper at Butte where he tallied 14 receptions for 174 yards and a touchdown last season

Missing: Nevada LB commit Touray..... Liked his build

Trying hard to get excited bout that bit of info...wish it was news to get excited about, need some excitement.
