I love seeing this! A home and home with James Madison is a big win and a step in the right direction for good schedules.

What? Football scheduling has been great for some time now. Basketball scheduling, on the other hand, could certainly use a step or 20 in the right direction for good schedules.

You're right, football scheduling has been doing well for some time now. It has been nice to see it get to a point where we can get home and homes with the likes of JMU.

Basketball, that is another issue altogether and we all know that is :dead:

Weber still has a basketball program? :stir:

This is really cool to see. It’s another piece of evidence that we are actually serious about being a premier FCS program.

This is such an amazing development! Absolutely, love knowing that the Cats have JMU on our schedule. The next few years are going to be a lot of fun. Now, we need to keep our team at a level that hosting JMU will fill our stadium and the game will be competitive. And, I'd like to echo a previously made statement, I hope our coach is still here for these games.

As for the difference between our football and basketball schedules, I'd like to point something out. Which entity in athletics is primarily responsible for planning the football schedules? While, which entity puts the basketball schedule together? The AD and our SID, does the majority of scheduling for football. While our basketball coach, mostly the associate head coach, puts together the basketball schedule. This is an ad nauseam, but I'll say it again...the NCAA should take scheduling away from coaches, or AD's should take back power and get more involved in constructing the basketball schedule. Hosting these NCCAA teams from California, every freaking year, needs to be stopped. If the team is a DI or DII NCAA team, then the AD should be fine with the decision, but he desperately needs to put his foot down on continuing to allow these garbage teams onto our schedule.

But...the issue with basketball is Randy...love him or hate him (I'm a fan for the most part) he is his own worst enemy with regard to his home OOC games. I mean we keep playing Denver and Boise State in the annual "super secret game" but these teams aren't on our schedule. Instead we have Bristol or St. Katherine College.

Hats off to the Admins of both schools for getting this done, and to both coaches for agreeing to play these games. Got to think Jay wants a chance at some payback for that tough playoff loss. JMU is forgoing a FBS payout game to come to Ogden, which is a pretty big sacrifice for them. Especially when you consider the high cost of travel to come here. Most FCS schools really rely on those payout games to balance the budget.

This is great! I think it puts the program at a high level and shows the FCS coaches and playoff committees that Weber State is hungry for recognition and wants the program to be respected year in and out.

Jay Hill always gets his teams fired up for these games. They played NDSU tough in Ogden when Hill was left a disaster by the big L and Sears.

I’m excited to see it. I don’t think the losing team drops much either. Just great football from two great programs.
