Home Attendance

What will it take for Weber to average over 5,000 fans? This might sound weird, but I really think that beating the instate teams is a crucial element for attendance. When the Cats beat the instate teams more fans tend to come out to the games. Its almost like fans wont support Weber till the Cats have proved themselves in some degree. When Weber went 17-0 in conference, I remember a lot of fans saying initially that Weber beat BYU, not that they had won 15 or 16 straight; that was usually second on their minds. What they remembered was Weber beating the in state rivals. Last season is a great example. Weber had a great attendance for the USU game, a lot of students and fans came out to the Utah game hoping to see Weber beat the U also. A close game would have kept a lot of the fans interested and excited, but the 20pt home loss really hurt Weber's attendance for the rest of the season. The loss left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Weber faithful. Teams definitely feed off of their crowds...Just look at the Spectrum, Tuesday's loss can be attributed just as much to the USU fans willing their team onto victory as it can to the USU players or the Wildcat's fatigue. Weber needs large, boisterous, and excited crowds to help them get going. There better be 7-8 thousand fans on hand for the game on Dec. 3. We've got to get the students out. A victory over BYU would give our Cats a huge amount of confidence which they desperately need right now...

Averaging 5,000 per game isn't good enough.

In 2007 we averaged about that and we had mostly small crowds.

Lets hope for a great game against BYU, that should help.

I'm saying anywhere between 5K and 10 tomorrow... I know thats quite the range.

Yeah but 5K will be in purple and 5K will be in blue.

They shouldn't even have a chance for that many tickets last year there were too many Aggies and Utes too.
