Home Court Advantage at WSU

After seeing the Championship game up in Missoula, I think WSU needs to follow suit, join the bandwagon and move the student section behind the visitors basket for the second half. We need to have the visitors going towards the side that doesn't have the tunnel. BYU, USU and Mutes are all doing this. I think its time for a change. This is a serious observation and something needs to be done to get large number of students behind the basket. I would support this 100% :twocents:

ive always disliked the side our students are on. even though they dont sit behind the goal they should at least be in U-V so they are on the away team's goal during the 2nd half instead of A-B. i always thought it was lame the students were on the wrong end all these years.

the students deserve the most valuable real estate until we have 6-7,000 season tkt holder demand. another reason i dont mind our students not behind the goal is the layout of the dee, the seats are way up there behind the hoop.

as long as the students are on the away team's goal in the 2nd half and the students and band are all together in one section it is much better environment.

It is lame. Something needs to be changed. Maybe another e-mail to Bovee or someone. Honestly, lets use home-court to the full advantage. Get students behind the freaking basket! This might actually bring more students because they will think its crazy and fun to sit there. Then sell gen-ad tickets where the students are now.. It only will make the place that much louder and more of a home-court advantage...

That's all nice in theory, but do you think WSU athletics is ready for the tooth-and-nail fight season ticket holders will give them for usurping their longtime seats? Most of them in that section are faculty on campus, too, so they think their shit doesn't stink. They will NOT allow it to happen.

I feel if the student section was at least on the side of the road team in the second half we would have somehow been able to stop Anthony Johnson. It would be great if maybe half the student section was behind the basket. A lot of schools have areans of our type and most have either raised the court or made other modifications to ensure the best home court advantage.

We have a hard enough time getting students to the games as it is right now and they get the best freakin seats in the house, do you really think they would show up if you made them sit in the worst seats in the house?

Man this is like polar opposite from my life in Griz land. Everyone there complains that they're stuck behind the basket because they want the arena the way it was years ago when they had the side. I guess it's all perspective :)

why change it? Keep the students were they are. Change the way the teams are playing towards. It doesnt matter if students attend or not. They deserve the best possible seats. Part of being a student.
