Hornet Gymnastics Opens Strong

Congratulations to the Hornets.

The win over the Aggies brought 1.25 points in the Causeway Cup and now 14 points behind Davis with another gymnastics meet coming up this month, a softball game with Davis soon and men's and women's tennis match ups between the two schools in February. With victories in these next four match ups with the Aggies the Hornets could draw even in the Causeway Cup standings with the Aggies who jumped out to a seemingly unsurmountable lead after fall sports.

Go hornets.

We have come from far behind to win before. Our spring sports baseball, softball, track and field etc. are strong!

Does EVERY UCD contest count, or only designated contests in sports (like softball and baseball) where we might have a series against them? Or if we ever get them in the same league for Olympic sports and have a home-and-home series in hoops?

Every contact with the dungpile is worth points. If more than one they split up the points;

Interesting how they split the points among the sports...10 for the "big sports" (football, hoops, and VB), and five for the lesser sports, to come out to 100. Losing the first two biggies put us in a HUGE hole. Fortunately, we got that back with the hoops wins, and as GL said, we are quite strong (relative to Davis) in the spring minor sports, particularly gymnastics.

Thanks for the find, GL!

yep.

volleyball, football and basketball are the big point getters. We used to do very well getting the 10 points in volleyball back in the day each year and normally were not in so much of a position for other sports to win out.

With the two basketball wins this year it put us back in the race. Now we can chip away with the remaining match ups, which indeed we have done before. And this year will be the biggest comeback yet.

Go Hornets.

Tonight is a meet at Utah State. Apparently our attempt at a stream has failed, but USU has one on their AD site. Can't believe Kailey's a senior now. :) :(

Our Hornets won the MPSF championship tonight at UC Davis winning over the Ags and the rest of the conference for the first Hornet team title in the 2013-14 year.

Very proud of our Hornets!!! One of our consistant stellar teams.

Congratulations to these wonderful athletes and their awesome coaches for the effort this year and formany years keeping the Hornets on top in gymnastics!!
