Hornet TV Network

Wondering how a school like Southern Utah can afford to broadcast its games, but Sac State in a top-20 market with no other competition cannot? I stopped in Hoppy Brewing today and half the place was filled with people watching the Sac State game on the big screen tv, it was pretty cool.

It seems like a no brainer in terms of marketing and exposure

Yes but I believe teams can have other broadcasts. The Montana's have their games broadcast on TV locally (probably state wide) so the Big Sky TV deal shouldn't hinder any TV deal we can potentially land. It's really a matter if a TV station/network thinks a Hornet game can have a big enough viewership to make money via advertisement air time. Anyone know what the Sac area TV rating was for the SUU game? If it was low, don't expect to see any more televised games until the Causeway.

SD is correct, particularly about UM and MSU. The big difference is that the local Griz and Kitty broadcasts are available nationally if one has a dish. The schools (not to mention their fan sites) promote the heck out of the sat coordinates for their games to their alumni and fans.

We have to get regular broadcasts first. But if we can do that, then we'll need a SID staff that's smart enough to copy the Montanas by publicizing dish info to alumni and fans nationwide.
