We had a prime matchup today between Sac State grads as Toronto traveled to Saskatchewan in a game moved from yesterday.
QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson came out on top in a 31-21 game with a crazy ending. MBT led Toronto to the game-winning field goal with 0:47 left, but Saskatchewan fumbled the ensuing kickoff on their own 10. An Argonaut followed with a scoop-and-score, leading to a 31-21 final. Saskatchewan has NOT won a home game all season. MBT had an impressive day, throwing 30-38-336-2 TD-1 INT with a long of 70; he added 17 yards on the ground on 6 carries. Sankey posted 7 tackles, including one of MBT on a sneak, and was even the Roughrider defender who contrived to pick one of MBT's passes. Hornet picks off Hornet! DL George Obinna and the second-place Calgary Stampeders took a well-earned break this week with a bye.
QB Kevin Thomson (B.C.) is still listed on the IR. The Lions beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 17-12 on Thursday.
In other CFL action this week, Montreal beat Ottawa 40-33 Thursday night, and Winnipeg defeated Edmonton 24-10 Friday night.
