While you may not have been looking, Eugene- yes, Eugene- almost landed a major international sporting event. Two votes shy.

You'll see me asking about Eugene trying again in 2021. Please forgive my use of good old unreliable Wiki here...

So the IAAF tendency projects to being in Europe in 2021 and going elsewhere in 2023.
So, minimum 30,000 seats, an urban infrastructure is probably preferred... think you guys could handle a stadium with a track? Or maybe find some sort of hybrid solution (Aloha Stadium, Stade de France) where a stadium can convert from track to football? It'd probably have to happen in a plot with more space... NOT Delta Park, but probably PIR (closer to the Yellow Line anyway).
If ever there was a time to start a letter-writing campaign to uncle Phil, this might be it.
