Bengal men beat EWU 75-71, behind ET's 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. He held Austin McBroom to 13. 11-6 and ending the night in third place, maybe all by themselves if current scores hold. First home loss of the year for EWU. Great job Bengals!

Unfortunately Idaho beat Weber, so the Bengals will have to beat Idaho or hope North Dakota loses at Montana State to assure a first round bye.

Again, Ethan Telfair IS the MVP of this league. He may not get the official award, but he is. Outstanding.

Watching ET is a thing of beauty. I can't remember any player coming into ISU and having such a dramatic impact in his first season.

Skippy, wouldn't we be in the same situation to get a first round bye had Idaho lost to Weber tonight?

That's true since whoever wins that game will have the tiebreaker.

Something else to think about: even if ISU doesn't win the BSC tourney, if they can get to 18 wins they might have a shot at a post season tournament bid, perhaps the CIT. There is a new post season tournament in Vegas that is going to soak up good teams that don't make the NCAA or NIT, so there should be more opportunity to get into the CIT,

I really don't know what to say. Tonight I watched an ISU TEAM take control of a game against the defending league tourney champs...and only trailed in the game for less than 40 seconds. I know Ethan Telfair had his fourth consecutive 30-point or more game in a row...but like so many of our other wins...ET makes everyone else play better.

ET with 31 points, 7 assists and 2 steals. He owned EWU's Austin McBroom...along with the rest of our defense. Kyle Ingram fouled out but had 9 rebounds and 3 blocked shots...Novak Topalovic had 8 RBds in 16 minutes...and hit two very needed free throws. Erik Nakken only had one three but it came with time expiring at the end of the half. Gary Chivichyan was 2-for-6...both of them 3s at crucial times that kept Eastern's defense running in circles opening up the lane for drives. Geno Luzcando had 11 points and 5 boards...but 4 big steals and had his hands or his feet on probably another half-dozen passes...Evann Hall hit two big buckets in just 11 minutes...and good ole Ben Wilson as steady as an Idaho breeze...12 points on 5-of-9 shooting with 7 boards and 2 steals. And the rest of the team held court while ET sat out 4 minutes with four fouls.

Can you say TEAM???

And Bill Evans and his staff coached their butts off...and Bill got emotional after the game about his players...and all of this with his wife in the hospital. I love this team. Whan an incredible honor it is to have the privilege of watching these guys play...just to be a small part of this is a blessing. And still...it's only a game.

GO BENGALS!

Yes, of course. This year's ISU team is a bad team, isn't it? Kind of reminds you of the one that finished last in the Big Sky last year.

I just want to thank Bill Evans, his staff and all the players for bringing some joy to Bengal Land. No matter how it ends, it has truly been a fun, engaging season. Now go kick some Vandal butt and get that first-round bye!

PS-- and prayers for Bill's wife. Get well soon.

congratulations ISU...Evans deserves some accolades after what has happened the last few years....good luck in the tourney unless we play you....

Congratulations to Bill and team on a great season. looking forward to great things for the remainder of this year and beyond. GO BENGALS
