• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Hunsaker quote "Weber best team in State"

If we would have hit our free throws, we could have beaten Utah State, however we still havent played BYU yet so the jury is out on that one.

USU and WSU are pretty close this year, hard to crown either at this point but you have to give the nod to the team that won by 10 I'd think.

If USU can beat YBU, they have it, hands down. If they lose, and we beat YBU, then it's a three way toss up.

Hunsaker was just saying that to ease the pain of the huge loss. :coffee:

As much as I like the alternating home schedules, I think it would be cool if all the Utah schools got together to get a tournament going at say ESA with only Utah Schools, a total of 6 teams and play for a championship of Utah trophy or something.

I'd be on board with that, but I'd rather not give away home/homes with BYU/Utah/you guys...we need all the good teams we can get to come to the Spectrum because we all know most teams won't (unless we do 2 for 1s)

I'd rather have the home and home arrangement. Makes the rivalry games that much more exciting. Also, we are in an even worse position than USU. We can't even get good teams to come to the Dee for 2-1's. It's virtually amazing that Weber gets OOC DI teams to the Dee. Our only hope is having the instate games. Looks like Weber will be playing UVU annually from here on out.

Yeah that is the big downside to a tournament like that, Weber has a hard enough time getting people to come to the Dee only to lose 1 or two instate home games a year would be rough

2 of 1 is something weber and usu need to do more often. its lame to have to do that but so is hosting non DI's and great west/big west/new wac. i understand all the pros and cons from teh coaching perspective but at least once in a while or one a yr reasonable? i also understand a 2 for 1 is not always possible, loook at idaho state, they did a 3 for 1 with wazzu. that is a joke. but when wazzu did come they were ranked 10th in the nation. i went to the game. :thumb:

Nobody was a bigger critic of Joe O'Brien than me. The guy had absolutely no clue in how to do so many things, including scheduling. But in fairness, the series with Washington State was a 2 for 1, not 3 for 1. It started at Washington State for the 2006-2007 season (November 21, 2006), returned to Pocatello for the 2007-2008 seasoon (December 23, 2007), and then went back to Pullman for the 2008-2009 season (December 2, 2008).

ISU does play WSU again this season, but that's a one time guarantee game (set to be played later this month in the tri-cities).

One of the many problems with O'Brien was he entered into so many 2 for 1's, he lost track of them. He didn't balance them out, and as a result, ISU had seasons where they were returning all of them and had no wiggle room to schedule home games.

I've often wondered why schools like WSU, ISU, and USU - who are within 1 to 2 hours of each other - can't work together for some scheduling purposes. As in, bring in a team who can play a couple of games (but for essentially one travel amount). (???)
