For the last 14 years every time Nicholls St. name is mentioned it reminds me of the painful 2004 season. Going into that season there were high hopes. 9/2/2004 we played them the first game in Thibodaux, Louisiana under a hurricane force downpour. 0-30 at half with the final 14-37 to a team who placed 4th in the Southland.
That season was also the painful loss to Montana 28-31(they played in Championship that year losing to JMU). We did have that very impressive win vs a very talented Southern Illinois St. team (Brandon Jacobs, 6'4 270lb RB knocked my son out during a kickoff return) 35-31 in Carbondale, Illinois to give us that home game vs SHSU in the qtrs. Then the excruciating loss to SHSU in qtrs 34-35 at home which sickens me to this day. A most painful season.
