*WARNING; If you have a weak stomach (like I do) read no further.

For the last 14 years every time Nicholls St. name is mentioned it reminds me of the painful 2004 season. Going into that season there were high hopes. 9/2/2004 we played them the first game in Thibodaux, Louisiana under a hurricane force downpour. 0-30 at half with the final 14-37 to a team who placed 4th in the Southland.

That season was also the painful loss to Montana 28-31(they played in Championship that year losing to JMU). We did have that very impressive win vs a very talented Southern Illinois St. team (Brandon Jacobs, 6'4 270lb RB knocked my son out during a kickoff return) 35-31 in Carbondale, Illinois to give us that home game vs SHSU in the qtrs. Then the excruciating loss to SHSU in qtrs 34-35 at home which sickens me to this day. A most painful season.

I blame Nichols St...I hate Nichols St.

And another interesting fact, Eastern never got a return game from Nicholls. I believe it was a really small buyout on their end and they just paid their way out of it.

annnnd that Montana loss was at HOME when Bobby Hauck was coaching and we had the game tying fg blocked with 18 seconds left..an 18 yard fg. Again Nicholls St. fault!

I was at that game. I flew with the team and uhad a great time. Ourr team speed was more than they could handle. Their only success was their horse up the middle because they could never get to the edge.
Great game, sorry your son took a slobber-knocker!
