I see another trap game vs. Montana

Montana is yet to win back to back games this year. They play portland st this week and eastern washington in three weeks. In between is us. Second beat thing to winning is being a spoiler.

I agree with Eric. Montana is going to look past us getting ready for Eastern Washington. And this bye week will give us the rest we need. Also it seems often in sports that as soon as a team no longer has a chance at the playoffs etc, that they start doing well. The stress is now off, they'll play lights out!
Plus hopefully the coaches will have these two weeks to get there heads on.

Montana has to beat Portland State and ISU to contend for BSC Championship and Playoffs. A win at Portland State may bring more hunger for Montana with they come to Holt Arena. A loss for Montana against Portland State maybe a set back for Montana coming into Holt Arena which means possible upset for the Bengals.

Griz could be down two starters, including the team's leading tackler...

Five people, including three University of Montana Griz football players, were arrested on felony burglary charges following an incident that occurred early Sunday morning.

Kendrick Van Ackeren, Joseph Counts and John Schmaing, as well as Courtney Reep and Maclain Tomlinson, were all booked into the Missoula County jail early Sunday.

Both Schmaing, a senior starting offensive tackle, and senior starting outside linebacker Van Ackeren played in Saturday's game in Oregon against Portland State. Van Ackeren leads the Griz with 96 tackles this season.

UM Athletic Director Kent Haslam said as per the student-athlete code of conduct, all three of the football players have been suspended indefinitely from all team activities. He said the suspension would only be reevaluated if the circumstances of the charges change.

When I was in high school here in Pocatello in the late 90's, these stories were a dime a dozen with the ISU football team. (DUI's, statutory rape, theft rings, etc) I know NO team is protected against this kind of thing, but it sure is nice we have a coach like Kramer, who is bringing in pretty good young men.

So far Kramer's kids are graduating and staying out of trouble ( knock on wood). That's half the battle. Now if we can build a little depth, clean up special teams and grow our QBs, we'll be okay.

For the record, I like Coach Cross. But Don Bailey might just be available again next season.
