I was a terrible fan yesterday

I quit listening after halftime. I was disgusted, frustrated, and decided I couldn't take these underachievers anymore.

Then they had one of the more miraculous comebacks in recent times with a 42 point second half.

I suck and I've learned a valuable lesson!

There are good years and not so good years, but as fans, we've not been fair to these guys this season. Think of what these 18-23 year old guys have dealt with in the last 9 months! New coaches, players, new school year, a brutal 4 games to open the year and injuries. These are spectacular young men working their tails off. I don't know what the rest of the season has in store, but I sure as hell know I'll have their backs and be cheering the whole way!!

Way to go Eags!

This. The W's and L's will come and go but at the end of the day the most important thing is to continue supporting the team. The great thing is I don't really think we've seen the limits of what this team can do yet. Cut down on some of the mistakes and these guys could be pretty good. Tons of upside.

For what it's worth, I think the coaches have done a marvelous job. It's hard to silence doubt when it creeps in, and we were AWFUL the first two weeks. But we kept grinding and now we're close to where we needed to be (3-2 in September).

Also, even when the game was going poorly yesterday, it was due to a lack of execution, not some strategic issue. Every one of Montana's first three TDs came off a glaring error. Their first two TDs came when we had a ballcarrier DOA in the backfield and missed a fairly simple tackle. Man, that was some ugly football... And the third was just a breakdown with a missed sack in the backfield followed by mistimed jumps to deflect the pass. We basically gifted them three TDs on drives that should've amounted to a total of two field goals.

I think everyone had their doubts but for me it never really felt like we were out of the game. Then when we had the big return to start the half I felt like we might have something. Really enjoyed the play of some of the younger players like Gurley, too. That kid really gets after it!

Absolutely awful. And the thing is, I don't know if we've actually improved in weeks 3 and 4, or if our competition was just that bad. Montana is probably a little better than Fordham, but I don't think either team is in the upper third of the FCS.

Of course we have already seen where we stack up against the #1 or #2 team in the country. I'd say we still have a lot of room for improvement.

I stopped watching after halftime until the 4th quarter. Thought it was over. Very impressed.

Go Eags

Yup, same here. The first 30 minutes of the game were brutal. Glad I recorded it so I could watch the Griz meltdown.

Really impressed with him too. Seemed like he was the first one to the returner on every kick off. Dude actually tackles too.
