Petrino is getting a little testy and the season has not even begun!

I guess you get a little on edge when you win 2 games in 2 years. I'm curious how much longer Idaho football can tread water at the FBS level.

While I love watching the dumpster fire that is Vandal football burn away, I gotta stick with Petrino on this one. You have a JV reporter for a JV newspaper talking smack about your team and then thinking he deserves unfettered access? I'd have kicked his ass out of practice too.

Really Dopa? Kramer said much worse about his own team after practice http://www.idahostatejournal.com/sp...cle_26323c20-4862-11e5-a810-e3b7f7004735.html. Is the head coach the only person who has the right to speak his mind? If I were Petrino, I would concern myself less with reporters and more with my team.

Sorry, not applicable. You know the old rule of thumb that you can talk shit about your parents, but if someone from outside your family said the same thing you'd punch them in the face? The same applies here.

If a coach is dissatisfied with his players, it's his job to let them know. But when a member of the media keeps lighting up your kids? That's akin to someone slamming your children. You can't let that stand.

The media guy has every right to write whatever he wants, even if it is unpleasant. But any good coach is going to tell him where to stick it if it appears the media guy just takes pride in slamming his players.

You make a good argument. I guess I see the head coach as more than a family member who should be defended, and who should defend his players and staff. In my opinion, the head coach is the face of the program. Petrino's attack on these two reporters makes his program look desperate. To me at least. Idaho may well be desperate, but I would still prefer a coach who could deal with criticism calmly and confidently. Winning a game or two wouldn't hurt, either.

They still have a team?
It may be getting smaller. :ohno:

Idaho needs to suck it up and drop down to FCS. I can't imagine having to fly to Atlanta and Boone every other year for a conference game. Not to mention that Liberty and Coastal might be added to the Sun Belt. That's going to put a dent in the travel budget.

Vandals being... vandals.

Only thing more embarrassing than wearing UI gear is being desperate enough to steal UI gear.

The said thing is, I was only partly joking. You really don't hear much of anything about Idaho football these days.
