Rumors flying with the announcement of the Boyzee State departure to the Big East.
One out there is that the WAC will implode and Idaho will be left without a home (very likely to occur).

Idaho may be coming back to the Big Sky for all sports.

I actually don't like it. It does not really strengthen the Sky much and travel to the Palouse sucks. Their facilities suck (they play in a potato barn like Iduhno State).
Sorry, but just say no to Idaho. :bad:

Actually, I like the idea of Idaho coming back, (they never should have left). They arent the strongest team in the world, but I think they would be a perfect 14th team.

I don't care much if they join or not, I just want to kick out North Dakota, I think that is a glaring mistake to add them to the conference. Travel costs are going to skyrocket.

Seriously though, what do they bring to the table? All 16 people who live in North Dakota?

In North Dakota's defense, they BEAT SUU IN CEDAR CITY, and we got owned by SUU AT HOME

And thier hoops team has votes in the Mid Major polls and Montana is the only Big Sky team with votes.

Personnally, Adding North Dakota doesnt bother me at all

I am thinking of travel and facilities as major issues. Both Idaho and North Dakota pose major problems. Air travel to both places is horrible. Bus travel is even worse. Both places are very expensive to get to (in terms of both time and money).
Both Idaho and North Dakota play in potato barns. This is a quote from the NDSU website: "The Alerus (stadium) features an AstroTurf Magic Carpet playing surface that allows for rapid field conversion."
Astro Turf Magic Carpet? Are you kidding me? Sounds like multiple injuries just waiting to happen.

Both places leave a lot to be desired.

The mistake with ND has already been made. Don't compound the mistake by adding Idaho. Fullerton is being proactive, which is good, but you also need to think about respecting the current members and travel logistics.

I have heard UND is getting brand new turf next year.

Yes, I have heard that the money is in place and they will do other upgrades to their barn too

UND will have the largest athletic department budget in the BSC, largely do to Hockey and a good media contract with FOX, but they do have resources and will likely step their game when they join the BSC.

U of I has recently completed $19 million worth of upgrades on the Kibbie Dome, including translucent panels to allow more light into the building, a new press box and luxury seating upgrades. It's become a very nice facility, and would certainly be one of the top 3 or so in the Big Sky. The issue with Idaho is the Vandals will not return to 1-AA football without first exhausting all other options, including making a go of it as an independent. The Big Sky is waiting for Idaho to exhaust those possibilities and then consider returning to the league in all sports. In the mean time, the league is holding open that last spot for the Vandals.

As an ISU fan, it would be great to have another in-state rival back on the schedule. We lost a lot of revenue when we lost U of I's visit every other year in football, and every year in basketball.

Looks like Waldo and others didn't have all the facts on UND and UI facilities. And recent improvements at Stewat Stadium notwithstanding, how solid is our footing to knock other school's football facilities.

What facts did I not have and which facts were incorrect?
Travel to both places suck.
They both play football is potato barns.
UND currently has "Astro Turf". :ohno:

Name 1 thing I posted regarding Idaho and UND that is false. I eagerly await your response

My complaints were:

1. Travel to UND sucks.
2. They are marginal in both football and basketball.
3. Did I say it sucks to get there?
4. What do they bring to the table?
5. Travel, it really really sucks to get to North Dakota.

My apologies Waldo, I should of let this one go. Travel is tough, and the addition of UND made more sense when South Dakota was in the picture. But that isn't a potato barn, and when they add the new turf, their football dome will be a better than many BSC facilities---including Stewart Stadium. Another thing I don't mind bout UND is, like the Montana's, college sports is king. They have passionate fans, and get good local media coverage. Either way, you have valid concerns about the school.
