If it's snowing today...

I hope the team is inside staying warm and toasty and enjoying another dramatic win. Can't remember a season so full of come from behind wins and big time plays. A real tribute to the entire team.
I hope it's snowing like crazy tomorrow so we can practice in it and work on hanging onto the ball the best they can. No way we lay that ball on the ground seven times and get intercepted a couple of times and expect to stay within 40 points of Villanova. I can't imagine what the % of teams that can afford so many to's and get a win in any type game much less the playoffs. Perhaps we play our best when our back is against the wall...BLM looked liked John Elway on that last drive.

Life would be SOOOO much easier if we'd stop putting ourselves in situations where we needed come from behind dramatic wins. We should have beaten North Dakota State by 3 TDs. They had more speed than I expected, but their line play wasn't nearly as good as it has looked against lesser teams.

Look at the "unforced error" column from yesterday and it looks like we were stricked with a bad disease of clumsiness... 5 turnovers + 3 fumbles that we managed to get on top of... 2 blocked field goals... allowing a kickoff return for TD- the first in over 10 years... a dropped TD pass by our most sure-handed receiver that hit him square in the chest...

We aren't going to beat better teams playing like that.... it's sort of lucky misfortune that we've learned to win despite playing dumb football because it has created some terrible habits of "we'll just play like utter garbage for 3/4 of the game and rescue a victory on the last drive." Winning is the most important thing, obviously, but we'd be infinitely better if we just executed when the opportunities present themself.
