If past history is any indication, good things in store

I was looking through our last few seasons results, and found an interesting trend. Every time we have had a "down" year, we have bounced right back to make the playoffs the following year. This is a good omen, and I think 2012 could be a great season given everyone we have returning and what should be an improved defense.

2003 - 6-5
2004 - 9-4 (playoffs)
2005 - 7-5 (playoffs)
2006 - 3-8
2007 - 9-4 (playoffs)
2008 - 6-5
2009 - 8-4 (playoffs)
2010 - 13-2 (playoffs)
2011 - 6-5

Anyone else already having football withdrawals? :thumb:

In a word, YES! But in response to the first part of your post, I can think of a couple reasons for that trend; more down time allows both the players and staff the ability to recharge, recruit, and condition. As much fun as the road to the championship was and as beneficial as the extra practices, that was an extremely wearing time given the reduced staff and resources that our program labors under. The players also went from game practices to winter conditioning without a break. Don't know if it had an impact on our injury riddled season this year but you have to wonder. After all, they played nearly the equivalent of an NFL regular season without the benefit of the professional athlete's support system of trainers, nutritionists and so forth.

Here's hoping history repeats itself!

In past years the BCS almost always had 2 teams (25%) and sometimes 3 teams (33%) of total members in the playoffs. With so many members now will the BSC have 3 teams as a given and possibly 4 teams?

BLM posted it on facebook, but I did run into Erik Meyer at Quest on Saturday.

There's also some hope regarding the ? at QB. Looking at this year's playoffs SHSU, Montana, and ODU all had underclassman starters. With Beau and Zack's success at mentoring young QB's there's reason to believe we might be ok at that position.

Agree 100%. I'm not worried. :thumb:

Given that we will have a very solid o-line, very talented group of running backs, and the best receiving corps in the BSC, the kids we have now will get the job done. What a great opportunity for a young QB, regardless of his experience.

NIce, how where they all in the same spot all at once???????????? I thought Erik was coaching high school out here

My guess is they planned it.

Erik is starting for the Shock... he won the starting job last year after putting up incredible numbers (shocking  ) when Kyle Rowley went down.
