Illinois State: Redbirds

Friday's tip is scheduled for 7pm at the Paradise Jam. Illinois State is 0-1 on the season after losing to USU on Sunday. Once again, the Aggies came from behind out-scoring the Redbirds by 12 after halftime. Illinois State was led by Dashion Knight and JC Trans DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell. Not only did Akoon-Purcell pour in 15 points, but he was the Redbirds leading rebounder with 10. He is a 6-5 wing and can really play. Dashion Knight is a do everything point guard. I've heard he is extremely quick. The Cats will have their hands full with those two guys. On a neutral court, with these guys, anything can happen. I feel, if the team that played the first half against USU shows up, then I'm fairly certain the Cats will be 1-0 heading into Saturday's game. If they zone us and the Cats try to push it, then we all know what will happen. I just hope to see the Cats play tough D and really limit the Redbirds. They don't don't seem like the greatest offense team, but then again, they only have one game under their belts.

I like the fact that it is a neutral floor with neutral refs. The guys should be able to go out and play hard and loose. :thumb:

Tomorrow night!! Anyway way to watch this game online? I know if the Cats continue to advance that the games will be played on CBS College Sports, but I'd like to watch Friday's game, if possible. I think this is a very winnable game for the Cats. We all know, on a neutral court that the Cats would beat the USU Aggies, and the Aggies beat the ISU, at their place, on Sunday. Two days after gutting out a very emotional win over us (I'm still sick about that loss). So, needless to say, I feel that the Cats should be able to get a win over the Illinois Red Birdies. The last time the Cats faced ISU was in 2001 and we lost that game on the road by 4 (70-74). I believe they were suppose to come back to Weber the next year, but for whatever reason, never have followed through with a return trip. Interesting??

We have to have a big game from our guards. You can tell that Golden is about to go off. He was 2-10 from outside on Monday and 6 of those missed 8 shots were right there. Same thing with Senglin. Teams should really worry when our guards finally find their range. They won't be able to double down on Bolomboy and our bigs.

Looks like paradisejam.com will have the games that aren't on Cbssportsnetwork.

They just posted a preview on the Wildcats. Um its been 3 years since Lillard left, he starts talking like it was last season. He does mention that Weber is the only team in the Jam that played in the NCAA tournament last season.

That is good to see that the games will be available. I still have no idea where I can watch the games when the Cats win. :thumb:
