This looks to be a fairly normal ISU team. I thought that they would be a better rebounding team than they have proven to be, but I thought that about us as well. This may be a year when this game will not be an easy win.

If Brekkott is able to play at a normal level, we should have an advantage. Otherwise, it could be an embarrassment. We should win, but this isn't a gimme.

WSU 74 - ISU 68

One point of interest, we get to see the, probably over hyped, well traveled Stutzman. He finally made the right choice and ended up at ISU. He is another player who's dad shopped him around everywhere, on all of his moves. He is, however, much better than Ian Fox.

BTW, over on the Bengal forum, they are much more excited about their women's team than their men's. A lot of lament about poor PG play, poor defense and poor rebounding. On offense, nobody stepping up for leadership. Interesting..... :yikes:

It was exciting at the end, but we didn't play well all night long. Couldn't throw it in the ocean if we were standing on the beach. We made some fairly average players look like all stars. If we don't turn this thing around, it may well be a very long season. As bad as we played, it would have been a shame if ISU would have allowed us to pull it off at the end. I'm sure that is what the refs were thinking as well.

Terrible game, can not say that I am surprised though. The best part of the post game Rahe rant, "we were beat by a very hungry, veteran team." :wall: :wall: :wall:

“The over-hyped Stutzman” is a pretty good player, I think. And he transferred to ISU so his family can better care for his wife, who has cystic fibrosis and often needs assistance when she’s having a tough period. She and her sister were finalists on America’s Got Talent. Both have CF, and both sing like angels. They teamed up to do the National Anthem earlier this season and it was awesome.

We as Weber fans are not in a good position to ridicule other players and programs right now. I would say that Chapman could be considered more over hyped than Stutzman. And Stutzman won the battle of the over hyped transfers.

What alien life form has abducted coach Rahe? Four total assists tonight! Randy of 10 years ago would be spitting nails. Remember when Sessions, Wheelright and others would get yanked for selfish crazy play. You can't tell me that the flash cards suddenly contain a bunch of iso plays and rushed 3 point attempts 5 seconds into the clock.

Braxton should have been fed more in the post. Especially after the 3 balls werent falling and the refs werent buying Taplovics flop. I would have kept going right at Taplovic after that.

Say what you want about Gittens. But he at least attempted to play defense and would be vocal to the other guys about plaing D. Our lack of veteran leadership has been brought on by letting some of these guys go. I know it is not as easy as saying we should have kept Cannon and Gittens. But some of the freshman are simply not ready and no matter how many times you try to tell me that Dallas has improved, he is not a D1 player and we desperatly need productive minutes from him.

I knew that losing to ISU was a posibility. But that was a poor effort. We were out hustled bad.

I can assure you that Randy will be spitting nails at practice. BTW, it wasn't just threes that were not falling. We couldn't make a layup until Harding started to take the game into his hands. I haven't seen us shoot that badly for a long time. It was brutal. We still ended up with a chance at the end. We just needed one or two more guys to step up. Our juniors and seniors were the ones who stunk the place up last night. To me, if that is all we are going to get out of them, why play them at all? Take our losses and get all the underclassmen some more PT. :yikes:

Where has Dusty's head gone? Where has that .500+ 3-ball gone. He's be just awful lately with what looks like a bad case of Cannon disease.

Could it be as simple as Baker's (and Cannon's) game/skills not meshing with the current players and offense being run?
They are both better coming off the bench than starting. I think it has to do with their higher skill level, but lower athletic ability. Coming off the bench, they are usually going against the other teams lesser athletes. The game is slower for them in that situation. Dusty has been thrown into a starting role and is required to guard the other teams best players. It really isn't a fair situation for him. He is giving everything he has, but there is not much left over for the offensive side of the floor. A big problem last night was that Chapman was a bit rusty coming off of three weeks absence due to injury. Hope he gets his rhythm back soon. :coffee:

I think that Randy hit the nail on the head here.

Kinda glad i had tickets to the symphony instead.

Time to readjust.....big time.
I'm with you, pal. It was a really nice crowd too. I felt really bad for the kids and coaches. They tried really hard to right the ship a couple of times, but had a hard time sustaining anything. It was like they were running in cement. They had no pop. They did not handle the holiday break well at all. Jerrick was the only bright spot in a dark outing. That kid is a true warrior. :coffee:
