Indoor practice facility construction has begun

Anybody else notice that the construction of the new indoor practice facility has begun?

Like they said they are attaching it to the Ice Sheet just west of the Dee. Looks Huge from Harrison Blvd.

Just another step to trying to improve Weber State football

I am afraid I dont have any pictures, but if your taking a drive down Harrison Blvd just look towards the Dee and you'll notice it, it is hard to miss.

GO WEBER

Click on the thumbnails for the big versions. This was actually a few weeks ago, so I'm sure they've made significant progress since.

It was actually the first time I have been up by the Dee since the Championship game, I was driving up that way and I was like what the heck is that big green wall? But then it hit me and I was like Alright the Indoor Practice facility.

Weber State athletics officials expect gains from their new facility as well. No other football team in the Big Sky Conference that plays its games at an outdoor stadium has an indoor facility, while the new building will essentially double the footprint of strength training facilities for Weber State athletics and will include two team rooms and two offices for strength coaches.

While the building itself pulls double duty for the university and the county, parts of the training facility will also combine uses. An observation deck overlooking the indoor football field will also contain treadmills, exercise bikes and an area for speed and agility work. Having the facility so close to the Dee Events Center also opens the possibility of hosting gatherings prior to basketball games.

And the indoor facility isn’t the only athletics project under way. Stewart Stadium will also see some upgrades over the summer, Bovee said, as the breezeway running underneath the stadium will be enclosed and restrooms will be renovated.

I am way stoked about the new indoor facility, but why didnt they just made it so it was at least 50 yards wide?? 45 yards wide seems silly. Its nice to have the space, but if you are going to already be building the facility, was there no possible way to have it be at least 50 yards wide? Maybe they couldve had the 2nd level of the facility have a hangover to make up the extra feet needed? Either way it is nice!!

I also am happy to see they are going to be doing improvements to the restrooms at Stewart Stadium!!

Also, when is the time table for the North Endzone Plaza to be build???

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
