Good idea, might be a little small though 48x60.

I remember when we practiced in an indoor soccer fields during a couple of bad winter/spring days it really limited what we could do in practice. The fields were about the same dimensions maybe not was wide.

But I guess that is about the same size as an arena football field so I guess it can be done.

Idaho State and Northern Arizona both play football in an indoor arena but none of the teams in the Big Sky Conference with an outdoor stadium also have an indoor practice facility.

"It definitely sets us apart in what we're trying to do here," Bovee said.

I know when Mac first showed up to Weber, he talking about getting an indoor practice facility and how it would set Weber apart from other teams in the area, and how, at our level, and as we all know, it would improve recruiting. If you have nice facilities, you will get better recruits. We have the Dee, Swenson, and Stromberg for basketball, best in the Sky and in a lot of ways in the state (USU is talking about building a practice facility, well hell Weber has had two for over twenty years now), and now for football we have a nice field, excellent outdoor practice facilities, updated locker rooms and lifting facilities, and now an indoor practice facility. Next, the stadium will be getting a much needed face life and some expansion. Proud to be a Cat right now.

Anyone know any specifics about what the 'stadium face lift and expansion' will be? Also...what is the costruction going on at the stadium right now?

WSU athletic director Jerry Bovee has another target in mind: Completing a north end zone plaza that will provide a major college football atmosphere along with needed ticketing, concessions, souvenirs and restrooms facilities -- a significant upgrade to the temporary concessions trailers that now surround the field on game day.

Gotta love the progress occurring at Weber. We don't need a tampon field to make us relevant. All Weber does is do things in a consistent and even manner.

Swebercat02 - thanks.

I guess the follow-up question is whether raising the money for indoor facility sets back the funding for stadium updates [or, whether those stadium updates have already been funded and is still on track for 2013 season].

Follow-up: anyone know what's being done at stadium now [I assume part of it is weight room expansion, but don't know what's happening at the entranceways]?

It would be pretty sweet if they were already starting on the north endzone plaza

I believe that they are redoing the roof of the stadium.

The North End Zone project is being seperately funded. In all Athletics is looking for 6 - 7 million for both projects.

Last I heard, from Bovee, was that the North EndZone project was probably going to break ground sometime after the season, and that the indoor facility was a go. It has already been designed and approved by the county.
