Injury

I've heard that Tyler Jolley is injured and will not be playing this weekend.

Everyone check your sources and my guess is we'll have a consensus 8-)

That's very bad news.... Jolley is a helluva player.

The only good note is that we are deep and fairly strong at DT, so the drop-off to second string isn't that awful.

That sucks, bad. Everyone's just going to have to go out and get one for TJ then! (the other one). *If* we can win this game, I wonder what the odds are that he would be able to make it back for the winner of MSU/NDSU?

Has anyone actually confirmed that he won't play Saturday? An ankle can be taped and I have to think it would have to be a serious sprain to keep him out of a game like this.

Props to Jolley for getting some good drugs and a good tape job and toughing it out.

No kidding - I was suprised to see him out there. Let's hope he can heal up a little in the next week.

He didn't play very well today. I don't think he played much in the second half.

I agree...he wasn't very stout against any sort of run block due to not being able to anchor down on that foot.

And I bet BK probably won't practice until Thursday of next week (if at all) to rest that hammy.

What exactly did he do? How serious is it, anyone know?

The rumor is that TJ has a broken foot/ankle. Anyone know anything yet?

Eastern Washington’s No. 1-ranked football team will be without the services of all-American running back Taiwan Jones for Friday night’s FCS semifinal playoff matchup against visiting Villanova.

According to EWU’s head athletic trainer Brian Norton, x-rays taken on Sunday showed that Jones suffered a fracture to the base of the 5th metatarsal in his left foot in Saturday’s 38-31 overtime playoff win over North Dakota State. According to Norton, Jones will consult with an orthopedic specialist on Monday to see if surgery is necessary.

Norton added therer might be a slight chance Jones could return for the FCS championship on Jan. 7 — provided surgery is performed, and the Eagles make it past Villanova at Roos Field on Friday night.
:(

Yeah...gonna be tough to compete out there w/o his explosiveness. We will have to spread out the D, try to create some holes for our other guys b/c they're going to load up the box and then sit back in zone and play the down markers. Could be a long, tough day. If BLM plays well, we have a chance. Anything less and this game--theoretically--is a lost cause. The exception to that are points by the defense, special teams, turnovers, etc.
