1. Why is there no hot water in the restrooms in the Purple Palace?
2. Why is Fulton not starting against teams with a big front line?
3. Why is Fulton kicking the ball out more in the past two games? He used to be the black hole, but is getting better at passing it back out.
4. Why did this team not beat Sac and ISU by 20+ points?
5. Where were the students on Saturday?
6. Where is the marketing for this basketball team? (a few suggestions: leading scorer in the nation, winning record, best in the state, projected to win the conference, great value, etc...).
7. When will Bull and Mook be back?
8. Why did Fields leave the team? Why is he still listed on the roster on the official website?
9. Will radio go back to KLO next year? Please?
10. How many points could Lillard score if he were given the green light on every possession?

Answer to #1 is to save $, so they can pay Ladyball bball coach "Ord" her salary.

#1- I agree with Weberski. If we are going to "train" or let a young gal earn her coaching stripes she should get entry level pay.
#2- It is possible that Rahe wants to force them to go smaller and not use up our big men who seem to be very foul happy.
#3- Coach Rahe has probably grilled him about it. The tape don't lie.
#4- I'm hoping it was a holiday hangover and overall uninspired play. Hopefully the guys don't get a letdown wakeup call on the 5th.
#5- Holiday vacation.
#6- We have a marketing director? Who knew?
#7- I'd be surprised to see Bull back within the next 2 weeks, I think Mook is day to day but has not recovered as well as first suspected.
#8- That is a question I would like answered from Coach Rahe, I think we deserve to know why one of our coveted recruits has left the team.
#9- I agree, the Sportszone doesn't care about our program and game presentation has been subpar.
#10- Lillard could potentially average 40 a game, but we'd probably be a .500 team. It'd be too one dimensional. Although, I don't think Lillard could ever become that selfish of a player, it's not his style.

Whew, I think this is my longest post ever.

Rahe WILL NEVER come out publicly and talk bad about a former player of his. Clearly Fields had some character issues that prevented him from fitting in with the team concept of WSU. I as a fan DO NOT feel that Rahe owes any of us an explanation on what happened. I just know that Rahe has his way of doing things, and if you choose not to play ball the Randy Rahe way you will be sent packing. Just ask Frank Sessions. I support Rahe 100% on his decisions regarding players.

I think you read too much into that. I would never expect Coach Rahe to talk negatively about a player. I meant that he should at least tell us that he has in fact left the team and could chalk it up to a "bad fit" for the program, or "he has decided to explore other options". But I have seen no report of anything stated on the matter.

WSU NOTES: Freshman Shai Fields has officially left Weber State's program.

Fields' departure has been expected since early December, when the 6-foot-4 guard/freshman from Houston stopped practicing with the team and was not on the bench for a game against San Jose State.

"Not every person, not every player is a fit for our program," Rahe said. "It just came down to Shai not being a fit for our program and it went both ways. We wish him nothing but the best and hope that he'll have some good opportunities, hope he'll have a successful career and we'll be there to help him every step of the way if he needs it."

Thanks! I've been asking about this for the past 2-3 weeks. :thumb: That's all I would expect, which was the reason for the post. The silence is what was really bothersome.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! I think he read it just like it sounded. Coaches never need to give a reason for doing the things they do (Unless you coach for Penn St, or you're name is Mike Leach, current head coach of Washington St)

Where did I say that he should say something negative about Fields? I said I wanted to know why he left, I don't live in Utah so I didn't catch the Standard article. I didn't know it had been officially announced, but you usually get a general reason for a student-athlete leaving. A lot of y'all are very touchy these days and quick to jump on some of us. :tothehand:

This may be a small thing, but it reflects a larger mindset that is penny wise and pound foolish.
One of my questions is why is there no hot water in the bathrooms? Weber needs to focus on making the experience of going to the game a major factor in marketing and ticket sales. Certainly putting a quality team on the floor is #1 in getting people to buy tickets, but there are other factors that contribute to the decision to buy tickets and attend the game. The experience people have with facilities, ushers, food services, parking, ticket office, etc., all play a role in people's perception of the value of their purchase. So, if we want fans to feel valued and welcome, why not turn on the hot water 15 times a year? You may save a couple of hundred dollars, but is it really worth it?

:agree: I'm sure Randy had his reasons.

Weber State could pull an Idaho State and start charging fans to park at the Dee Events Center. What do you think that would do to our game attendence? I even asked Joe Strand why he stopped playing Joker and the Theif, he told me, "We don't want to do things like Idaho State and never do anything different." (That was probably not exactly what he said because he said it in 2009)

1. considering the football restroom facilities we have, the cold water issues is the least of our worries. minus the hot water, have u seen a college facility that is better?

4. we didn't want to be rude. after all, they will both be back to the dee next yr.

5. school has been out since mid december. so they can't be dis'd for that plus the holidays is another valid excuse. playing home games between christmas and new yrs is not the best way to help your attendance average but sometimes you have no choice.

7. weber's update yesterday (jan 4) is 1 to 2 weeks.

9. hopefully they can get all the bugs worked out of the system by 2015. 1280 is a good idea in theory to get us more exposure since more people listen to 1280 than 1430.

i recommend taking up a twitter account. you can find a lot of info on there from the ogden/salt lake media, wsu, weberhoops  , the players, the big sky...etc. create an account and follow everyone weber/big sky related and enable their tweets to your mobile phone. but as an fyi the big sky tweets a ton.

twitter is the best source for "breaking news" and then this forum is 2nd.
