So...how excited is everyone for the game on Sunday?

At the start of the season, I hoped that the Cats would still be playing now, but of course, in a far different tournament. Yet, it is pretty sweet still being able to listen to games and watch Weber this late in the year. YES...It would have been far better having a home game. I guess the Cats couldn't have hosted since there is a concert at the Dee on Saturday night. I'm not sure how things are done, but I guess, doing setup takes longer than 24hrs for the Dee Staff.

Also, supposedly, there was some type of issue with Stew having to play Weber again, hence why the Cats are traveling to Southern California. Weird. I don't know what it was, but that is what I heard. No matter, Weber is set to play on Sunday at a religious school.

Uh...there is a game on Sunday?

Well, I for one don't think LMU is that great. I don't care that they beat BYU. BYU had 1 amazing game this season and that just so happened to occur against us.

Is it any wonder he loves Meatballs in a bun @ Ligori's..
I'm not sure what your fascination is with me, but I do find it rather pathetic that you seem to have no life of your own. And just so you know, you can stop hitting on me anytime cuz it aint going to work. You are a H0M0 and Im not. Get a life, and for hells sakes move out of your moms basement and stop watching banana porn. :finger:

Of course Im excited, even though we got royally screwed I WANT WEBER TO WIN THE WHOLE GOD DAMN THING.

GO WILDCATS

Judging from the lack of posts today, there isn't a whole lot of interest. I know we have been kinda sorta disapointed in the way the CIT(who changed the meaning of march MADness) has made the pairings and game sites and such but , we are still playing. There are approx 346 Div. 1 men's Bball teams. I may not be accurate but I believe there were 164 that were invited to the post season. Out of those there were 82 first round losers. That means out of 346 teams....only 82 are still playing ANYWHERE. When we win on Sunday, we will be among the TOP 42 teams in AMERICA. That is somethinfg to get excited about.(at least in my purple corner of the world) COME ON, WEEBCATS..do I smell Lions steaks on the BBQ?

I'm excited for the game tomorrow, but I'm not amped up like I was for games earlier in the season. After the disappointing finish and then getting screwed by the NIT selection committee, everything feels kind of watered down at this point. I hope they win and keep playing, and perhaps if they make a run at this thing, I'll sit up a little straighter.

I am excited for the game, I am hoping the team comes out ready to play, and Damian has a great game, he is due to have a high scoring game. The interesting thing is if (when) we win won't this be the best or 2nd best (UM at home) win we have had all year?

If Weber can find it within themselves to beat LMU, I would put it at #1. Weber State has left a lot to be desired this season, especially on the road (see: @Saint Mary's, @BYU, @California, @Montana X2, and even @Idaho State). Beating Montana and Texas-Arlington at home was obviously nice, but what this season is missing (other than a trip to the NCAA Tournament) is a satisfying road victory.

Weber's wins over Utah State and Utah were probably the most satisfying Weber victories for me (in that order), but in terms of the talent level of the opponent combined with the venue (on the road), I think a victory over LMU would be #1.

To me, this game is becoming more and more exciting. Loyola Marymount is an extremely talented team. They are big and can really move. Most importantly, they are very strong defensively. What is rather interesting is that they seem to be a better team on the road than at home, since all of their major victories this season all happened on the road (UCLA, St. Marys, BYU, St. Louis). Rahe said, in the Standard today, that Loyola is the 2nd most talented team the Cats will face this season behind Cal.

Keys to Victory:
Limit TOs
Get buckets in transition
Limit second chance opportunities (rebound)
and keep them off balance. The Cats cant just settle for a bunch of 3pt shots, but must actually move the ball around, get into the paint, and penetrate. The bigs need to recognize when to go to the hole or when to pass it back out. Something our bigs must start working on. When the Cats are passing and moving, they are extremely hard to stop. Weber is quicker and has a slight size advantage.

On defense...Weber's best bet is a 2-3 matchup zone, mixed in with a lot of man. Weber has to use their quickness to keep the Lions off-balance. Weber is the quicker team, and must use that to their advantage, but usually when they run they turn the ball over a lot. The Cats must be ready and communicating.

Finally, from what I have seen, Loyola has a hard time handling a press. Weber should institute a token 2-3 half-court trap or a 1-3-1 trap, every once in a while after made baskets just to slow up the Lions.

I'm hoping for a game this week against instate foe USU at the DEE.
