Interview with ISU Assistant Todd Bates

I stumbled across this interview from a few days back. ISU defensive line coach Todd Bates gives a nice interview about his background, motivation, and a look at the recruiting process. The interview takes place over the first half of the program, more or less...

With college football summer workouts beginning this month, we sit down to talk football with two rising stars in the college coaching ranks, Cal Poly defensive coordinator Josh Brown and Idaho State defensive line coach Todd Bates.

It motivates me to see a young man out there who has the grades, and who, you know, puts in the work academically and has the talent but doesn't have the money to be able to afford college. And for me to be able to find this guy, this kid, wherever he's at in the world, and to be able to say, "Hey man, I want to offer you a full ride to Idaho State University. That's one of the reasons I get up in the morning..."
