Is Portland State a contender?

I just noticed how badly they smashed Idaho State, the team people thought would be near the top of the Big Sky this year. That with a win with FBS, WSU, they are building a significant resume. Some people are saying "Yeah, but it's just WSU". But just remember, we couldn't even beat WSU when they were down and we were up, but the Vikings somehow pulled it off.

So, contender or pretender?

They have a much easier schedule to the Playoffs than EWU, MSU, UM , ISU, or Cal Poly. They might Win the Big Sky Tittle with 4 losses

I like the enthusiasm, but an "at best an 8-2 EWU" is awfully presumptuous. Man, we're 0-2 and the scheduling has decimated the team. It wouldn't be a stretch to suggest 5-5 is more likely than 8-2. I sure as hell hope it's 8-2 and we can laugh about this, but I think our team is in a bit of a crisis right now if any of these injuries are lengthy.

No, PSU is not a contender. Two great wins but they will struggle to be a .500 team. They won't beat North Texas, EWU, MSU, UM, or Cal Poly. They will lose 4 in a row starting against North Texas and the wheels will fall off...
