Is Tarver silver bullet?

He definitely has a lot to prove coming in to PSU. If he expects to go with the motions and assume that his height and size will gain him the starting roll then he will have a rude awakening!! Mouse and Jerry are no nonsense kind of coaches and they will let you know if they expect more out of you and if you cant cut it they will find somebody who can. I have alot of friends who played HS ball with him and against him as well as friends who know guys who play for OSU said he's lazy, a pushover when it comes to contact, and lacks motivation. For gods sake man the kid is 6'5"! Thats a quarter backs wet dream for a receiver, but if you cant get yourself open and run your route then your of no use to anybody.

I hope that Mouse lights a fire under Tarvers a$$ and inspires him to his best abilities because he could do amazing things for the team.

I agree with the statement that he'll have to work for a starting role. Especially if Kirkland gets the extra year. Mackins is too fast to keep off the field, but the other spots are up for grabs. I wonder who will be playing all the roles. Mackins could easily be a slotback as well, especially with his speed. I'm personally pulling for Tarver, because he presents matchup problems on the outside, but he will need to work for a spot.

I'm sure Mackins will be a SB, he's just that type of WR, Tarver and Kirkland are the most likely outside recievers with that other SB wide open

Don't forget about WR Matt Smith who is a sophmore this year, I think. Kid has skills.

He has serious potential with alot of others. I see barnes getting into the mix in 08' early as a sophomore
