All conference home games are must wins, especially the first one of the season. An 0-3 start, including a conference home loss, would be demoralizing.

I agree, if this team starts out 0-3 I have a feeling a lot of them would quit mentally. But I dont think it will be an issue as I see WSU rolling up Suck St in this one.

7-4 is a minimum record for WSU to qualify for the playoffs. With the toughest games being @EWU, MSU, @UM, and SUU... Without question this game is a must win.

That being said, EWU is in a similar situation. Their next 2 games are against MSU and UM. One could hope they'll be demoralized by week 5.

Although it may not be the end of the world, it would make it very hard to get to where we want to be at the end of the season. It will be really interesting to see just how much intestinal fortitude this team has. We are young, but this is as good a time to grow up as any.

We CAN NOT lose at home, we have some tough road games this year, we cannot afford a home loss.

Yes this game is a must win

Agreed with ajwildcat. Winning that Wyoming game would have made losing to Sac more tolerable, but all Big Sky games are must-wins. However, I don't think WSU will easily "roll it up" against the Hornets. They are an up-and-coming team that is no pushover. I think the Wildcats get em, but not by more than 10 points or so. :coffee:

I don't think this is a must win for Sac St, but it's close. Sac can still lose this game and then win next week vs Montana - we would be 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the BSC. Not great but still in a position to make a playoff run.

Weber on the other hand is in a must win situation. If you lose this week, you'll be 0-3 with game against Montana, MSU and EWU. It would be possible to recover, but not likely.

I'm sure we'll see two hungry teams take the field on Saturday - should be close either way.

Congrats on the new turf, I can't wait to see in on BigSkyTV.

I think that the turf takes away a bit of the homefield advantage from Weber. The new turf levels the playing field (literally) for teams that aren't used to playing in sloppy or bad-weather conditions. For speedy and athletic teams like Sac State, they'd much rather play on field turf than the junk they slugged around on last weekend.

I think this will be a great game, but my head tells me that Weber comes out on top...
