Jordan Dallas was rated a three star by at least one service, and Brekkott was a four star. If Kozak had played his HS years in the USA, he would have been a 3 or 4 star player. Ratings don't seem to make it over seas.SWeberCat02 said:First 3 Star since Braxton. Good get.
Was talking about HS recruits, not transfers, and concensous 3 stars.oldrunner said:Jordan Dallas was rated a three star by at least one service, and Brekkott was a four star. Keep in mind that Damian was rated a two star. If Israel works as hard as Dame did, he will be a very special player.
I understand. Keep in mind that Israel was rated a 3 star by two out of the three services. and not rated at all by the third. Jordan was rated a 3 star by one service and a 2 star by another. To be rated by all three you need to attend a camp put on by each of the services. Some players attend a camp from all three and some do not. Sometimes a player not attending a camp but viewed at another event by a trusted representative of a service will still get a rating. Sometimes a player will get a 2 star rating simply due to not being fully seen by enough raters, but being within the scope of a services umbrella. Damian fell into the later group. He probably should have been rated higher, but wasn't as visible as he might have been. Players from over seas are usually not visible at all. It is far from a perfect rating system. My personal opinion is that Israel probably should have been rated higher. There are some 4 star guys out there that are not as good as Israel. IMO. There are also some 2 star guys out there who are way, way under rated, like Dame.SWeberCat02 said:Was talking about HS recruits, not transfers, and concensous 3 stars.oldrunner said:Jordan Dallas was rated a three star by at least one service, and Brekkott was a four star. ISRAEL Barnes is a six foot 4, true shooting guard in the class of 2018. He competes with one of the best programs in the country, defending Nike EYBL Peach Jam Champions, MoKan Elite. MoKan is known primarily for taking top midwest prospects and turning them into household, national names. Israel Barnes case is no different. As of today, he has received his 2nd NCAA Division 1 offer from the University of Texas Tech. His first coming from Tulsa University. This is only the beginning for the rising senior prospect.
AFTER seeing him on film on numerous occasions and in person at the MADEHoops #TheWarmUp event in Bentonville, Arkansas - he is at his best in catch and shoot situations. Outside of being a great athlete, defender, and play-maker, Israel is an ELITE shooter. One of the very best in the 2018 class. His mid-range game is just as good as his shot from behind the arc. His game could be described as very smooth and fluid with the ability to out muscle defenders when attacking the rim He has good size at 6'4 and a solid base
