ISU Alumni Associaton Football Involvement

Seeing the post on the Boise area watch party for the Weber game brings up another angle on people complaining about community involvement and crowds or the lack thereof at football games and men's basketball.

In our household (IF) , there are two ISU grads who have been regular attendees at ISU athletic events for years. We have yet to see any communications or marketing to promote alumni interest with watch parties, tailgates, etc where the ISU alumni association actually does anything. [Big speeches at graduation ceremonies, Bengals for life, chapters in Idaho Falls, Boise, rah rah rah but then everything seems to vaporize.] I have yet to see any apparent coordination efforts with the Athletic Boosters for social=athletic events. If there have been events, they have not been commmunicated well or at all. And, of course that goes both ways.

You can't fix the issues of involvement and support with the community until you start fixing involvement within the iSU family of grads and students, as well. And, although it certainly helps, I'm not so sure that merely putting winning teams on the field and the court are all that is necessary for building alumni and fan support.

Just sayin' and Go Bengals! Beat Weber today!
