Kyle Franco, the new sports editor of the Journal had a nice story in the paper today (Saturday) sitting down with Seton and Bill to get their thoughts on the possible changes to the Big Sky Conferences men's and women's basketball tournaments.

There is also a lot more additional material from Seton to Kyle on the ISJ web site under Kyle's blog page.

Nice job by Kyle.

Given the inherent advantages UM has both monetarily and the fact that they are one of the few teams in the Big Sky that draws for women's basketball (UND,ISU and MSU being the others) I can understand why he hopes this doesn't come to pass. That could make continuing the Montana dynasty a little harder to maintain since their advantages would be lessened.

Like I said I think the A.D.'s will wind up being the deciding factor, if they want this, they have a reasonable chance to convince the school president's and it's on the record already that all of the men's coaches want it so they are probably working their individual A.D.'s.

Just based on what I read I give it a 50/50 shot of passing just my opinion.

We'll see.

Thanks for telling us about these interviews.

Having to pay $250,000 for the tournament (instead of making some money in Poky, Missoula) will probably mean the status quo wins.
