Segert's dad played with Joe O'Brien in college. He's a real baby-face, looks like he's 15, but he apparently can shoot the lights out from 3. He, along with Rolando Little, the 6-9 JC walk-on F, will constitute the 09 recruiting class for the Bengals.

Segert scored 84 points in back-to-back games last year:

Lots of YouTube video of the young man shooting 3s. Would like to see a little more of his game -- ballhandling? Can he defend, etc.:

I'd like to see a little bit more of the rest of his game, as well, but you can't have too many shooters, especially with the three-point line moving out.

are they wearing different colored shorts?? are you sure this is a HS clip....good offense makes up for a whole lot of bad defense, I will take kids that can shoot all day long!

I just watched a few of his videos on youtube He can shoot the ball but so can a hundred of kids that play pick up games in church leagues and rec leagues.. I think he can play college basketball.. Division 1 .. don't think so maybe... like NAIA or Division II or NCCAA since he is from the south. I know it's all about who you know especially in college so he can thank his dad for that one.. I hope he does well here.. I don't think he would get much playing time.. He looks like he would be very vulnerable on defense.

I can't really tell from that video what kind of baller he'll be in college. Hopefully he'll at least turn out like a Tim Erickson...not a superstar, but fills a need. I kinda liked Erickson's game. Dude could shoot...

I'm glad Utah St didn't feel this way about Jaycee Carroll. He averaged 39 a game for Evanston High as a senior and we heard all pundits say "he plays in Wyoming", "he is a specialist", "he doesn't play good enough defense". I'm glad Stew Morrill thought better than the pundits did, because 2,522 points later everyone was regretting not being all over this kid. Hundreds of kids can shoot the ball good, but hundreds of kids can't shoot the ball great, but this kid seems to be a great shooter. Segert may or may not end up being a great player, but when you put up the kind of numbers he has in high school ISU is not hurt throwing a scholarship at this kid. Let's hope he is a diamond in the rough as Carroll was As a USU and ISU grad I follow both teams closely and this seems like a good signing to me. Way to go O'Brien.

Yes he is a very good shooter. I have seen Carrol in person and Carrol would wipe the floor with this kid. If he would work on his foot speed and not be one dimensional he would be very dangerous. Looking at the videos on Youtube my sister could score 20 points a game against these kids.
