POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State football program has announced a home-and-home series with Northern Iowa in 2019 and 2020. The Bengals play at Northern Iowa on Sept. 21 in 2019 and in 2020 the Panthers come to Pocatello on Sept. 12.
This is the first time since Sept. 18, 2008 that the Bengals have played an FCS opponent in nonconference play. That year ISU lost 38-35 to North Dakota in Pocatello.
Northern Iowa leads the series against Idaho State 2-0. Northern Iowa came to Pocatello in 1990 and won 44-10 and in 1992 UNI won 49-11 at home.
Other nonconference games scheduled in 2019 are Sept. 14 at Utah and Nov. 16 at BYU.
