We have now beat 4 out of the 5 top teams in the league. To crush Northern Colorado today without Davison in the game down the stretch made a statement. This team's talent is undeniable!!!

go eags!

Of course, you've also lost to the worst team in DI, have lost 6 conference games total, and sit in 5th place 4 games (and likely 4.5 after tonight) out of first. I'd hold off on contacting the mayor to schedule the ticker tape parade down the one street in Cheney just yet.

crush? I did not see any crushing going on. Were you there? Hey I love you man, but a final score does not tell the entire story of the game

We had a solid lead when Davison went out and were starting to pull away. Once he got hurt it changed things pretty dramatically for a bit. They couldn't handle us in OT though. Hunt and Peatling were just too much. Those guys were toying with their Bigs down low. And Kidd.... He was nearly impossible to guard. That is when the crushing happened--when we needed it most.

go eags!

It was a "mini crushing".

The game never should have went to overtime. The EAGS need to handle the press better. Also, Tyler Kidd got mugged on that last second steal and break to the basket. I think the Montana officials followed the EAGS home.

I can live with "mini-crushing" Golden-eag! The bottom line is they couldn't stop us. We had three guys with 20+ points and we would have had four if Davison didn't get hurt with 11 minutes left. If Davison doesn't get hurt I think we run away even bigger. As far as the full court press goes....I didn't like what I saw. Middle school kids know you shouldn't pass the ball into the corner on the inbounds and we did that at least twice. We fixed it the third time but we better have stuff like that ironed out by March.

go eags!

Wow that was an entertaining game. We didn't allow UNC to come out fast...we came out fast! UNC is forreal they are good. We need to find that mojo and get into this tourny playing our best ball. That means cutting down unforced turnovers and taking bad shots...those are killers. WE ARE CAPABLE!

I agree. UNC is the real-deal. Jordan Davis is no joke! I have a lot of respect for their team. Davis could easily carry UNC to the Dance.

We could have losses to Sentinel, Big Sky and Hellgate and it wouldn’t matter in the Big Sky...as the tourney sets up now the Griz are lined up to get beat by the MSU/EWU winner early on...can’t wait

Great game!! Our Eagles are coming together now and hopefully they cam keep it going through the tourney. I hope Davison can tough through his strained ankle injury. We may not need him Monday vs Idaho but will Thursday @ SUU

I heard last year allllll about how it didn't matter. It sure seemed to during that final, though.

Uhh, slipping away? The GRIZ have won 9 straight, and during that run have trailed for a total of 7 minutes. No, no, I really don't feel much slipping away. Well, except for any excitement of this season, because the GRIZ will have the entire thing clinched by Monday night. Just "paper tigers" again this year though I'm sure.....

Good for you guys though! You still have the excitement of trying to reach a .375 winning percentage!! That's going to be a lot of fun to watch down the stretch.

Actually "EverettGriz" it is exciting to follow this team. They started the season with 3 starters injured and had a brutal OOC schedule. They took their lumps but are playing good ball. They are a very young team with a lot of young talent.

Good luck in the NIT, maybe.

I appreciate the enthusiasm and the optimism, but this is one area where the Griz fans are right... well, maybe not grizbeateags cuz the guy is a douche and probably one of those people who are the focus of the Montana Meth Project; definitely not a resident of the Yellowstone Club. But Eastern is 9-15. You can't sugarcoat that. 6 games below .500 and some bad losses to shitty teams among those 15.

The good news is this team seems capable of rising for big games, so it isn't inconceivable that everything comes together if we can keep our talent off the trainer's table.

It would really help if we can come out and thump the Vandals tonight. They are awful and account for one of the bad losses to a shitty team.

Well, you can't hide our record. We are 9-15 and maybe 10 - 15 after tonight's game.

-Syracuse
-Oregon
-Washington
-USF
-Stanford

There are five of those losses, and most of those games were without Davison and Peatling. Ya....they were tough games. I doubt any Big Sky teams knock off any of those teams without their TOP 2 players. You could argue we played those teams without our TOP 3 players with Steven Beo out for the season. We have played those types of teams tough in the last few years. And, just like our football team, we take down a much bigger program every once in a while. Shoot, we hung with Stanford for most of that game this year even without some of our studs. And yes, we have some bad losses early in the year but that was to be expected without Peatling and Davison. That duo might be the best in the Big Sky. Even when Davison came back early on he wasn't to full health yet. The car accident he was in, and the surgery he had to go through as a result of that accident set him back quite a bit this year. We've all seen what he's done since he got healthy though. He's been nearly unstoppable even when our opponents knew he was coming. That's the sign of an elite player.

I, nor anyone on this site, has said we are the best team in the league this year, just CAPABLE OF BEATING ANYONE. Our team has tons of talent and has proven that by who we have taken down this year. Beating 3 out of the top 4 teams in the league says a lot. I don't think anyone on this site is guaranteeing going to the Dance. If you asked me to put money on it, I'd pick either Montana or Weber to go to the Dance. The one question we still have to answer is, CAN WE WIN ON THE ROAD? I think we'll probably lose at least one more road game this year that we should win. Eag fans are optimistic for a reason....we have TALENT and our team is starting to gel. Any great coach will tell you that you want to be playing your best ball at the end of the season. Improvement each game is what coaches want. Our team has been improving each game. There's reason to be optimistic. Hopefully Davison returns to full health soon. Looks like he is on crutches tonight against Idaho. We're a different team when he's doing his thing.

go eags!

Hahaha...9 straight...maybe one day the Griz will carry that over to the post season...its been 13 years since the Griz won a game in ANY post season tournament. The last 3 times you played in the NCAA tournament, you were an embarrassment to the conference with losses by 47, 24, 14....

Gotta say, 5, that's a pretty rich post from a fan of a team who has made two total Tournament appearances in their entire HISTORY. And have absorbed beat downs of 34, 32, 24, 22 and 20 points (to Seattle U mind you!!! Aren't they like 0-10 in the WAC???!) just THIS SEASON!!!

I wouldn't talk much about embarrassing the conference if I were you.

Yet we beat the Griz this year...hmmm....
