It's Game Day -- Fire Up

Can the Bengals keep the momentum going against a tough Sac State team that has already beaten them once this season? We'll find out tonight. This is another step in the evolution of the Bengals, riding the momentum and winning tough games you are favored to win. Sac has a strong front line, including two forwards (Strings and Hornsby) who both had double-doubles against the Bengals last time they played. They have guard Cody Demps, one of their best all-around players, back from injury. And they play tough defense, holding ISU to 32 percent shooting last time. The Bengals have to be patient on offense (they launched 32 treys first game against Sac), aggressive on D and stubborn for 40 minutes against a team that plays much better in the second half.

Can we top Thursday's night's crowd of 2,600, largest of the season? Let's do it. Go Bengals!

It wasn't well-played, overall, but I will not apologize for any win. I didn't expect to shoot 35% and 25% from 3, but good teams find ways to overcome shooting woes and Sac St. could never take the lead down the stretch. Telfair dazzled us again in the waning moments making a few huge shots and dishing several awesome assists. I'm loving this..! Let's get a sweep next weekend!

Some nights the treys just aren't falling. Geno was 1 for 7 but he did other things -- 8 for 10 from ft line and 10 rebounds. Topolalovic had 3 awesome dunks, blocked 3 shots and had six boards in 19 minutes. GC had 10 points, including the winning layup. And ET? Oh man was he good.

Although our shooting percentages tonight we're not great, we won. It's nice to get a bad shooting night out of the way and still get a win.
Some key things that happened tonight were:
1. Defense played well, holding them to low shooting percentages as well, AND only sending them to the free throw line 5 times!
2. The exchange between Ethan Telfair and Novak Topalovic improved. (Coach said they have been working on it) Novak REALLY needed that confidence boost. He has been playing decent, but he needs to feel like the BIG man that he is becoming. Tonight was huge in that!
3. The crowd cheered on the team without the team waving their own arms to encourage the croud! Key timely defensive stands had the crowd up and cheering.
AND the crowd applauding the individual key players for their key plays as they we're taken out to rest.
WAY TO GO BENGAL NATION!

Big game tonight at Reeds! Let's get it packed in there! I went to but some additional tickets for a few friends yesterday, and they were "sold out" in the lower section. There WILL be some empty seats, it's just that some are allocated for business that don't use their tickets. Let's help these kids get fired up to beat the "other" 1st place team. It will give us the confidence to beat them in the tournament and pull an upset for the championship! Ethan Telfair says he wants to go "dancing in March"
Go Bengals!
